I'm still here

I just let myself get run down and had to step away from the blogs and news for a while.

I've been keeping myself busy by creating some new recipes and learning how to bake different kinds of breads, make pizza dough, cakes and other desserts.

I'll share some of the recipes later this week.

I love to cook, but I'm no baker. One has to be too precise to bake. I admire those who have the patience for that. Cheers Hammer!!

I love to bake but never had much success with breads. My husband did well though. Wonder what the trick is.

I was shown how to make Sicilian pizza once. The dough was very simple - just a basic bread I think - rip off small balls to make personal pizza sized pies, spread with the toppings (no meat) then fried to cook them. Tasty. Don't recall how the top got cooked though. hmmm maybe it just does.

Glad to hear from you, I love to cook, but I don't know anything with dough, pizza dough or any bread recipes, so I'm looking forward your recipes, I've never even done a good pancakes dough something everyone knows how to do.
Yes, at least I know how to do an apple tart.

MMMMn, yummy! Nothing better than freshly baked bread, right out of the oven and with lots of REAL butter on it too! Do you use a bread baker or do you make yours via the traditional route? And if you use the old-fashioned method, do you like rye bread?
If so, and if you'd like a great recipe for Swedish Limpa Rye bread, drop me a note as I have one that has never failed to turn out great for me! The hardest part of making it now is finding rye flour around where I live! My son-in-law had never had Swedish Rye bread before until I started making this (it's a recipe that was my great-aunt's so it probably originated with my great-grandmother) and from the first batch of this stuff, my son-in-law is first in line to grab fresh slices of this product. He even eats it without butter but I consider that to be sacrilege!
Let me know -be glad to share the recipe with you.
