Democrats are their own worst enemy
Whenever I criticize someone, it is for something that they have actually done or have failed to do. When I go after Obama it's because of his voting to ban firearms, his socialist policies, flip flops and outright lies about his record.
I don't say shit unless they open themselves up for it and I do my research first. Which includes snopes.com.
Many liberals on the other hand are not constrained by facts or fairness. The photo shopped pic showing Palin with the bikini and machine gun is FAKE and has been proven FAKE a thousand times but I keep seeing it all over the blogosphere as "Proof" that she shouldn't be elected.
Give me a fucking break.
At least some liberal folks raised concerns about Palin's record, her religion and her stances but what I mostly see are baseless attacks regarding things that, if the Democratic candidate did would be totally ignored or excused.
Another thing I keep reading from Democrats is that Sarah Palin has 5 kids, one with downs syndrome and she should be at home taking care of those children instead of running for Vice President.
Holy fucking guacamole! Do they hear what they are saying? Would they call a female democratic candidate a bad mother for choosing to run for office? Hell no! That would be sexist.
This is what I was told by a liberal female psychology professor: " Women are underpaid, under represented and are discriminated against because other women are always backstabbing and throwing their female counterparts under the bus.
From my longtime experience in the corporate world, I find this to be true. Men don't usually gossip about other men and will often cover for another man if he screws up. Often times a female will use the opportunity to trash her counterpart and try to use the situation to her advantage.
I'm not saying this to be sexist It's just what I've witnessed.
So what I'm trying to say is, Democratic women are only hurting themselves in the long run by trashing Palin because what they are doing is trashing themselves. The possibility of having the first female American vice president to me is groundbreaking and exciting. I fully support the possibility of having one at the very top levels of leadership.
Can't the Democrats see that once this glass ceiling is broken, they will be able to successfully nominate female candidates of their own? What are they so afraid of? Palin is not going to outlaw abortion and start a Christian Jihad against Berkley...Bush didn't even do that.
Margaret Thatcher was attacked much the same way Palin is right now and she turned out to be one of the strongest and most respected leaders of the 20th century
Democrats need to quit doing themselves a disservice, stick to the facts and leave the tabloid bullshit to the news networks.
UPDATE:
Apparently I'm not the only one who is pissed about the misuse of this stupid photograph.

Uh, Amen.
Your comment about Thatcher, I was thinking this same thing about a day after Gov. Palin was nominated.
She's tough just like Thatcher.
Absolutely True! The hypocracy of the left is stunning. We should all give Obama a pass on everything but be afraid of this woman because she actually believes in things and lives accordingly? I love it, and I finally can look forward to voting for McCain without holding my nose.
I just think the photo of Sara Palin in the American flag bikini and holding a rifle is FUNNY. Thats it.
Hammer,
Once again, right on the head. I've witnessed the same things in my office, time and time again. Would the opposition be as loud if Obama had brought Hilary into the VP spot? Would we be discussing this if the VP nomination had women from both parties? Just saying...
I find this very silly. You do realize that smear campaigns have been a part of politics since the very beginning, don't you? It's unfortunate but true. You bash democrats as a whole but it's just as easily said the republicans are ridiculous for not getting the facts on Obama. They accuse him of being Muslim, taking oath on the Quran, being unpatriotic by refusing to honor the flag and various other nonsense. It's the same thing. They all outright lie about their records. This game goes both ways and both parties are being attacked.
For the record, you shouldn't vote for someone because they are a woman. Vote for them because they support what you believe in. I think it is just as groundbreaking and exciting that there is a possibility of the first Black President.
just saying: thanks :)
debbie: There are similarities in their stances.
FHB: Me too
Meleah: Yep I saw it on a lot of Republican blogs as funny too but there were a ton of blogs that stated the pic was a fact and proof she shouldn't be elected.
Mike: I can't see Democrats criticizing anything about themselves no matter how blatant
Knight: Thanks for visiting!: I'm not bashing them for their beliefs but for the silliness of attacking Palin with a faked picture. The bashing of Palin by women has me rattled. I guess what confuses me is that 95% of Blacks say they are voting for Obama because he is black but Women have no such solidarity...not sure how to comprehend that. Again thank you for commenting, you raise some valid points that I will post about later this week.
That is really low. If I was her, I'd be pissed.
Well Hammer, you know I'm leaning the same direction you are, so it will come as no surprise that I find substance in your post.
Not only do I continue to see the photos of Palin surface, I was reading one of my "regular" bloggers the other day who was continuing to "gossip" about the Wikipedia changes regarding Palin's entry - changes that have now been tracked back to an Obama campaign support group.
Then there was Obama's lipstick/pid comment. There is just no way the right would ever get away with what the left does ...
Yar, what you said. It's infuriating they can't address actual issues, but instead resort to phony moral outrage over things that aren't true and wouldn't matter if they were. It would be so much more satisfying when McCain wins in November if the democrats hadn't just thrown it away by acting like a junior high gossip party. Then again, I'm glad there's been this opportunity for BO to show himself for who he truly is-- if he can't handle the pressure of THIS, then how will he do in situations with truly commanding (bully) dictators and statesmen from other countries? He's not got the chops for it if he can't win on the issues.
well apparently they have to resort to stupid shit, cuz that's all they have.
I love her strong will, family, and kick ass till it's straight attitude.
Agreed. And nicely said.
Be honored my good man. We have the privilege of watching a political meltdown of tectonic proportion.
And that ain't something you get to see everyday.
Dick, yeah, that dick, the former big one.
How's life been treating you?
Hey! A veep in a bikini that can shoot straight just tickles hell out of me! She has my vote!
Annie: I'm sure she's trying to get used to all this positive and negative attention.
Dana: I had no idea the wikipedia was sabotaged..geez
plegmmy: I know, even as much of a Joke Kerry was this election takes the cake.
burfica: looks like McCain picked someone with no skeletons.
erica: thanks :)
Dick: Great to see you! been missing your blog...If you're writing I'd like to read it. cheers!
Guyk: heck yeah..the dems are barking up the wrong tree if they think guns and bikinis are going to turn me away.
GuyK, the photo lacks just one thing: she needs to be holding a Bible. A woman in a bikini, clutching onto her God and guns, well, like the ole beer commercial said, "it don't get no better than this."
Instead of a dissuading photo, that is actually a recruiting poster for Palin voters. Silly Democrats; every time they sling mud, they keep on losing ground.
mts - she needs to have a bottle of a nice English bitter. Then it's the trifecta!
I think Gov. Palin is a very savvy and tough lady who will hand out ass whoopins by the basket full.
Great post too Hammer.
I can't believe anyone thinks that is a real picture. The photo has 2 different colored arms holding the rifle. Wow.
dems are trolling on every site i read...they are seriously disturbed by Palin...way more than anyubody could have imagined...its like a female neutron bomb landed on their dreams....fun fun fun!
My husband and I talk all the time about how women throw each other under the bus. It's awful! My pet theory is because we have to compete over men -- the old more-women-than-men thing. I've had my share of back-stabbing done to me in the workplace. But I was still naive enough to think women would like to see a tough, smart woman like Palin succeed. I guess N.O.W. will have to change their name. They're not the National Organization for Women. They're really the National Organization for Abortion.
mts: The dems have been stepping on their proverbial pee pee all week.
ted: she's going to run out of hands ;)
admiral: can't wait!
beachgirl: I know..it's a silly photo that could have just been a good joke but even CNN believed it.
Thud: McCain put a wrench in their works when he chose her and they can't seem to recover.
sqt: I was told about that theory as well. I wonder when it will ever change? You are right. NOW's core issue is abortion. I wonder why they are so hot and bothered over it.
hammer - your observations are spot on, as usual.
beware though - bin biden has come out today and stated that he may not have been hussein obama's best choice for running mate - look for him to step out of the photo and that will leave the door open for her heinous to gracefully step into the photo.
yes, you heard it from me first.
...do you ever hate being right?
As usual, you're so right on.
It just occurred to me that John Edwards (prior to his recent, um, excursions) wasn't criticized by the left-leaning media for running for president with a cancer stricken wife and young clildren. That's certainly a distraction.
Anyway...just a thought.
Amy
fake or not.... that picture is pretty hot.
crystalchick: That was a heck of a comment! :)
I am not a fan of McCain or his record I've been bashing him since 2004 calling him the manchurian candidate, enemy of gun owners and I've even made derogatory videos with him. As far as the Photshopping goes, mine are obvious parodies and jokes. There are real pictures of Obama wearing turbans so I like having fun with that stuff. You should see what I did with giuliani.
The problem I have with the bikini one is and was being touted as a REAL reason not to vote for Palin. CNN even treated it as legitimate.
I do respect your reasoning and there are valid reasons why some won't want to vote for the McCain ticket. I was toying with the possibility of going independent if McCain picked another liberal or gun hater as his VP pick.
Again, thanks for the comment and I'm glad we are able to have civil discourse on these issues.
hmmm don't agre with you on comparing Palin to Thatcher, but I hope you're right, I'm a big fan of Thatcher.
Anyway, you're sure right about one thing, girls are meaner with girls than men are with other men. I hear it every day at work, I try to keep my head down, don't want to participate or be the target either. But can you imagine if it happens at such an insignificant level, the scale of it at an international level!?
