Down but not out
I developed a bad case of pnemonia last week. Couldn't blow out the candles on my birthday cake. The doc put me on some roto rooter antibiotics, an inhaler and some codiene cough syup and says I'll be better in about 5 more days.
Needless to say I'm not moving around much but at least I'm starting to mend.
I'll catch up with you guys as I can.

Yikes. Jeff ended up with bronchitis a few years back and if he wouldnt have went to he dr when he did he would have endd up with the same thing.. Take care and rest up and dont worry about us but thanks for the update on yourself though.

A lot of people are getting pneumonia. One of my coworker's kids got it last week. There was a story on NPR that some weird virus is going around, and one of the effects it has is to make people come down with pneumonia. I hope you don't have that.

Holy crap, Hammer - you take extra-good care of yourself - it's seriously scary shit, pneumonia is. After my bout with it in late July-to-August (and I'm just now feeling back-to-normal-ISH) I'll always be scared of ever getting that shit again. It's bad. Frighteningly so.

I have chronic Bronchaitis myself, and whenever I get an infection, I'm on my back for a week or more.

Hope you feel better! Codeine makes me want to clean the house instead of sleep. They say I am allergic to it b/c it has the reverse reaction in my system.
Jeez. Sounds like a drag. I know you'll recover quickly.
If you have access to a sauna, use it. Miracle workers, those saunas.

HOLY SHIT! I am reading your blog backwards since i am so behind and just got to this one! I had this same last year around this time (okay, on Christmas eve my doc saw me last year and gave me chest xrays and blah blah blah) so I totally know how miserable it is. I had an inhaler (Advair) and that AWESOME codiene cough medicine. I had the suckiest holiday last year ever. I had to take a nap after merely walking from upstairs to downstairs...or after taking a shower. It is truly miserable and I am sorry you are going through this. Get better!
