Daily stuff
The little one is acting better but after 5 days of almost constant screaming , hitting and throwing heavy objects she has settled down somewhat.
Then at dinner, she started punching her brother again when she thought I wasn't looking. The kid is going to put me in a funny farm before it's all said and done. Needless to say she's been timed out for the majority of the week.
The wife is in a class where they are learning procedures on how to load cargo aircraft without this happening.

She's learning how to de-ice planes, inspect rivets and look for structural damage. It's unlikely that she will ever be doing these things but definitely will be managing people who do.
She gets to learn how to use those funny flashlights that look like mini light sabres that they use to guide planes in. She got to do a couple hours in a 727 flight simulator to learn how to take off, land and learn the basics of flying a jet airliner. She was one of the few that didn't crash or end up in the grass.
Plus, she gets to watch a bunch of foreigners eat Kentucky pulled pork barbecue. The Malaysian and Chinese guys scarf it up like they've never eaten before and the Central and South American folks run from the room with their hand over their mouth looking for a place to puke . Go figure...
I'm glad she's finally getting to do some cool stuff after all these years of corporate bullshit and drudgery.

SORRY CAPS LOCK
who was screaming and throwing stuff you or her...lol
I always wanted one of those saber flashlights for camping.
Hang in there. My life consists of some of those tantrums. My 4 year old has taken to tossing over the big wrought iron standing lamp. We've gone through a few lightbulbs this week
Did you tell her to be careful with those saber lights? We wouldn't want a repeat of the opening scene from Airplane lol.
That the boundary-pushing will continue is a given, but I do hope the physical aggression towards her brother is on the decrease. You're on the right track, however, Hammer.
Way to go, Mrs. Hammer!!! It sounds as if you're more than capable of handling whatever assignment you're given by the company...those flashlights sound soooo cool!
Veritas et Fidelis Semper
I'm wondering why the South Americans don't like the pulled pork BBQ.
Sounds like she's having a keen time!
Somedays working for an airline is fun.
what's with kids the past few weeks. For about two weeks my son has been lying, back talking, yelling at me, and acting like he's three instead of eleven. Man did shit finally hit the fan this morning.
We will see if he straightens up. I'm thinking it's cuz school starts in less than two weeks and he doesn't want to go back, but we will see.
nice job with keeping the home fires burning!
I am so jealous of your wife. That just sounds like a load of fun experience.
(You know... they make pediatric NyQuil for a reason don't you? Slip it to 'em in their lemonade.)
I remember they gave us those flashlights back in basic training so when we marched in formation before sunrise, we wouldn't get our asses run over. I wouldn't even begin to know where mine ended up, but I still have my sunglasses!
Cool job...hope it all goes well for her.
Hang in there hammer...something is definitely in the air the last few days...not sure if I wanna kill the gremlins or the gnomes more..lmao.
sounds very cool for Mrs Hammer!!
The DJ on one of the radio shows here retold a story whereby his 4 year old son was acting completely off his face so the dad told his son that if he continued to act that way he was going to get sent to the home for bad boys.
The son continued to act like a dick so the dad put the boy in his car and they drove to the most decrepit house in the neighbourhood and showed the boy where he would be living from now on.
The boy's behaviour improved a lot. Of course now the boy gets nightmares..but the behaviour has improved a lot! ;)
OK, I'm officially having Delta Air Lines flashbacks.
We had classes on all that stuff. It's really not difficult, but you would be amazed at how many people freak out at it's difficulty. That was the first time that I realized, truly realized that there are some dumb people in this world, in those classes.
My screwed up back is a legacy of my years of loading baggage and freight onto airplanes.
Best wishes to your wife. There are some really great people in the airline world, but there are also some that are dumb as the probverbial box of rocks.
I completely agree with the back-to-school-soon theory. Both of mine (6 and 11) have just about earned a week-long timeout ... in straitjackets. They have both been absolutely out of control! We've been telling them to go outside and play ... as in, "I don't care if it's pouring down rain and lightning is hitting every tree in the yard! Get out there and have FUN! Just leave us in peace!"
