Back online

I got my computer up and running again. The power supply had just gone out so luckily fixing it didn't cost as much as I thought.
Still, I had to mess with the damn thing all weekend but I'm indeed fortunate I didn't lose everything like the last few times.
It sure beats leaving it to one of those know nothing, do nothing, screw everyone over, computer repair places where a warranty repair costs as much as a new computer.
I shouldn't speak too soon, because it's still frigging raining and lighting has been known to strike in the same place twice, or in my case about a dozen times.
I'm just glad everything is back to normal.
The family and I went out to eat Friday night. It's is an interior of Mexico theme and they have a bunch of paintings of this lady all over the place. I guess she's famous and all, but having her stare down at you from 6 directions is not good for the appetite.
I ordered the mole poblano enchiladas. I've had them before at other places and it's one of my favorites. Mole is raw baking chocolate, dried peppers, and tons of spices made into a sauce.
These people screwed it up big time. It tasted like they put a Hershey bar in the microwave with some Tabasco. I about threw up.
They didn't take it off my bill but they did give a couple free desserts...Everyone else enjoyed theirs so that's all that really matters.
Weather permitting, I'll be making the blog rounds and will see what everyone else is up to.

I had mole chicken here, and there was no sauce at all on it. so..they screwed it up too. I don't order that anymore.
We have one of those places that it looks like a pinata exploded inside the restaurant. Pretty good food, loud mexican peoples serving and cooking. It's all good and fun.
but don't order the mole chicken. lmaoooooo
Oh and on lightning not striking the same place twice. We finally made my dad get a different trailer when he lived down south, after it hit the same exact spot 5 summers in a row.
I see that picture everywhere... I swear it's a man in drag.
You ordered mole while out? You are a very brave man. At least the photo looked delicious. Perhaps you should have had the meal preserved in polymer instead of eating it since it looks a lot better than it obviously tasted?
My nextdoor neighbor makes homemade mole and brings over some to us every single time. The last time she made up a bunch she told me that there are some 32 ingredients in it, making it the most complex recipe I have ever heard of. Still... when it's made right it's really good.
Mole Problemo--Hell there's your tip right there in the name! Duh??? LOL-- Mole Problems--LOL- and what's with Senora Unibrow Hernadez Sanchez Florita Gonzales Smith- That would creep me out too!
What do you call a Chicken with a Mole on it?
Hammers' sucky dinner---Oh my God I crack myself up. Pollo Mole. I don't have the little tilda thingy to put over the letters.
Si, Yo tango Pollo mole con su side order o' Caballo boils! OK- it's my meds- I'm sorry- I just missed ya Hammer!!!
Love the pic of the Puter--Lmao!!
Glad your up and running and can format and reinstall OS and add components- it sure is easier than blind trust like I have to do with most things Automobile- they have me at their mercy on a lot of the bigger stuff!
Missed ya Bro- take a deep breath- catch up with everything and we'll chat with ya soon!
Juan Wayne (And alas- yes that IS my middle name)
G'day Hammer,
Welcome back. Mmmmmm- Mexican food. We call food ``tucker'' here, by the way.
Given your interest in Aussie angles, you might get a laugh out of my post some months ago about `The Dog on the Tuckerbox' at Gundagai in New South Wales.
Hope you had a good weekend
Cheers
David
That plate looks really good.
Glad to see you made it back online.
I have a friend who, like Frida, has those McDonald "M" eyebrows.
Frida was not an attractive woman, but she had "cojones," especially for a Spanish woman of that time period. The way she lived her life made her interesting. I don't like her self portraits with all the blood and inner organs showing. A bit freaky.
Well, it looked good in the picture! Your description just about made me yack...I love good Mexican food, having a Mexican fiance helps that a bit...G'ma's cooking is the best! I would marry him just for his G'mas cooking! That lady's eyebrows were scary!
there's no way i could eat ANYTHING with a Frida picutre hanging over me. you're lucky you didn't die.
Dude, you're not going to put that photo of the scrumptious Mexican dish up there and not tell us how to make it, are you?? It's not excuse that you don't know how to make it!
And for God's sake, will someone give Frida a goddammed shave!
You eat Moles? Man that is some weird shit. Are they really chocolate flavoured? If you have some spare dessert I would like it. Waste not want not!
Lol @ John's first sentence.
I cannot believe that computer was easily saved. It looks like the wicked witch after she had water poured on her!
Someone needs a tweezing...
I'm with Dan, I need the recipe.
Good to have you back Hammer! Hope all is well now and you can get back to normal posting...
I'm betting that my missus would like a microwaved hershey bar with Tabasco...
omg did I miss something?? do you actually EAT moles??
p.s welcome back...glad your computer is up and running again...they can be SUCH a PITA but we do so love them..lmao.

I love the mole poblano at the Mexican restaurant across the street. But the service is like enh - manana.
WHOA! That chick has a mustache just like my 15-yr-old son's!
Frieda and Diego rocked the art world, she was bisexual, and he looked like a toad... really.... He was much older than her and she fell for him even though he was a womanizer (how I do not know, but he was) They are sort of icons of the latin art world, and the art world in general.
her paintings may be weird, but think of how weird they were in her day!
Burfica: I like the pinata explosion places like where every ceiling fan blade is a different color. The uglier the restaurant the better the food.
jingo: that's what I thought the first several times I saw it.
queen: good mole is an art. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to do untested recipes
John: Man you crack me up! Now I'm going to have nightmares about chickens with big hairy moles.
david mcmahon: thanks, I'll have to check that out..tucker?
snowmanpoop: I found a good pic online, mine actually looked decent but it was poop in diguise
scarlet: I read her bio, and found out what the deal was. Her art is much sought after here.
jenny: the best mexican food is from hole in the wall places with several kidnapped grandma's shackled to the stoves ;)
minijonb: The eyes kept following me...
dan: I make one kind of mole, that is pretty good. I'll post it :)
mutley: The fur is the worst part.
skinny: lol that pic isn't mine just a dramatization :D
anndi: oh yeah a full on waxing too
jp: thanks me too!
stucco: that is pregnant food!
canadian: mole' sounds like Olay hehe.
If that's a lady, I"m a snowman.
Welcome back... I have a lightening post soon too! Daughter's neighbors got hit.. will post pics tomorrow maybe. I SO glad your puter didn't fry!
Mole is usually quite delicious, but you do need to aquire a taste for it...
Never had mole that tasted like a hershey bar though. Yuck.
I'm relieved. Not that you're back, but I saw the plate in the top picture and thought it was something you'd cooked, and I was ready to throw in the towel and give up. Glad you're back!
Hammer, I recently bought a Western Digital, 500GB(!) external USB hard drive for 189 bucks at Best Buy.
I have a jillion photos and whatnot, and found a nice piece of software on the internet that I'm trying free for 30 days called Folder Clone.
After working on photos, adding some, changing some, deleting some, I start Folder Clone, and have it already set up with a "task" to make an exact duplicate of my My Pictures folder. When I start the task, it follows the directions I gave it at an earlier time and saved, and it creates an exact copy of everything I specified, out on this new external USB drive.
I have created 3 tasks in this software, one to back up all of my digital pictures , one task to back up all of my music (20GB worth), and one task to back up just my 35mm slide scans because they are HUGE.
So after doing some work on images, I can run one or even all 3 of the tasks I've set up.
So I now have a copy of everything on the computer's internal hard drive, AND an exact duplicate of every photo and song on my external drive.
The beauty of the external drive is that I can unhook it from my desktop, hook it to my wife's laptop, and back up all of her stuff for her too.
The hard drive was 189 dollars, and Folder Clone will cost me around 35 dollars when my 30 free days are up.
This is the first time I've ever had EVERYTHING backed up like this, and it's a sweet feeling.
Oh yeah, the artsy types love Frida Khalo or however you spell her name, but she seriously needed some eybrow plucking. She looks like the Geico cavemen.
Really good mole is absolutely fabulous! Any other kind of mole is not even fit to put in the compost heap. It's an art form not perfected by many.
too bad about the mole poblanos! Poblanos are my absolute favorite pepper flavor, and I usually get Chicken Mole if I have the option - glorious stuff!
