Stuff I use everyday

There are some products I use consistently because they work. I try the cheapest and then go up from there if necessary.

Here are some examples of products I use everyday.

BC Powder. Heads off a hangover at the pass and can plow through a stubborn headache in a hurry. It tastes nasty but it works fast.

Collodial silver.

Pathogens cannot live in the presence of silver. Gargling with this stuff cures strep and dropping in the eyes clears up infections. It's kind of expensive but cheaper than a doctors visit, totally safe and bacteria can't build up a tolerance.
It's great for morning breath, cuts scrapes, if you put a dash of it in a carton of milk, it will not go sour. It will also clear up nasty mildew on clothing and carpet.

Golden seal powder.
Put this stuff on a deep cut and it acts like a bandage, prevents infection and scarring.
I've avoided stitches with this stuff. I buy the capsules and break them open as needed for cuts, burns and cold sores.

Wrangler Jeans.
They are durable, come in all styles and are a steal at 11.99 a pair. Since they moved the Levi factories to Mexico and the corporation unabashedly supports leftist causes, I feel better about buying this brand instead

Lava soap. Great for exfoliating and getting the funk off. Just don't use it on your no no regions..trust me.

These are but a few. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

G'day Hammer,

What a great idea for a post. You've got me thinking now ...

I look forward to seeing some of your additions to this list.

Keep smiling

Do you have hangovers every day? I don't think we have BC powder here in the UK. I never heard of it - or the wound sealing powder either..

OK, the Lava Soap sounds pretty frightening - if yer cant wash the old man with it then do you have to have two kinds of soap for a shower? I am already irritated that we have separate hair soaps, - but separate todger soap as well?

There used to be a BC Powder plant in Durham, NC and my aunt worked there in the 30's. She actually measured out 1 gram of the powder, then hand wrapped eash dose...her and a few hundred more like her.

We have Lava soap. My dad used a lot of it, because his work got him dirty. It's great for cleaning stubborn paint off your hands, too. "exfoliate" isn't the word for it-I'd use "flay".

Interesting about the goldenseal-I didn't know that. I think I'll pass on the silver though, it's a little too scary for me. Looking forward to more of this!

Interesting...I knew about the silver but not the goldenseal...and I would never, ever put lava soup on my "oh so delicate skin" lol.
Peace

I started laughing when I saw the Lava soap. When I was a little girl that is the only soap I would wash with. I loved the smell of it. Thanks for bringing that back to me.

You put lava soap on your no no spot... omg why? NO.

When do we get to hear that story..lol

This is too cool. My wife gets these things on her eye from time to time. Old folks would call them a sty, or something like that. They say that if you rubbed a gold ring on the sty, it will go away quickly. So my wife has always done that and it works. A colloid is a material suspended in a solution, so the silver colloid makes sense to work on the same eye issues. I just didn't know you could buy such a thing.

By the way, milk is a colloid too, particles suspended in liquid.

BC powder rocks. I've always been able to take even the most horrible medicines because the yuckyness only lasts a moment, and BC is one of the best. Asprin is still a true miracle drug.

I don't use Lava, but my mechanic grandfather did. Whenever I encounter some at somebody's house, I'll wash my hands whether they need it or not just to feel it's grittyness. It almost brings tears to my eyes with the rush of memories at my maternal grandparent's house.

Great stuff today, Hammer.

Bookmarked. I knew about the BC, but not about silver and goldenseal.

Wranglers look horrible on me, and they're not all that comfy.

Lava soap tears my hands up...I wouldn't use it anywhere else.

Love this list, though the jeans are the only thing I think I can get over here. Ever thought of opening up a web pharmacy?

Hey, y'all need to be most cautious with the colloidal silver. Get enough of it in your system, and you'll get Argyria, and skin will turn a ghastly shade of silvery-blue. And it won't ever return to a normal shade... One day you're normal, the next you wake up looking like Ziggy Stardust.

Best read this and this if you don't believe me.

Infini thanks :)

David: Can't wait to see em.

katherine: They wear pretty well.

mutley: There are all kinds of soaps for diffent body parts, especially the nethers.

reggie: didnt know it had been around so long. I guess if it works.

janetL lol flay, the bad silver is the silver nitrate this is in water solution and doesn;t turn you blue

odat: lava on the delicates is a bad idea!

rebecca: It's the soap thar never seems to shrink!

snowmanpoop: painful memories indeed I walked funny for a few days

jam: the gold is supposed to be good for arthritis and depression too.

squeaky: Yep some people can't wear certain types, I had to go through a few styles before I found one that fit me right.

evalinn: Good idea, the healthfood stores usually carry the stuff I mentioned unless they are outlawed

Capitan: you're thinking of the silver nitrate that the old timnrs used. I've been guzzling the water based stuff at the highest concentration available for 10 years. apparently when it's in water it doesn't make you into a smurf.

matt-man: Why take vicodin when the straight stuff works just as well ;)

We have used Lava here but Hubby doesnt like it as well as this goop stuff we found him once. He comes home pretty dirty from the job. Some days he smells like he rolled in cow poop. LOL but literally he does. Its from the tires he brings back for the things to be redone. I cant think of the work right now. Had no idea of the others though.

good tip on the silver and golden seal -
Wranglers - haven't seen them in years - they weren't "cool" way back when...do they carry women's anyway?

And here I thought I was cheap with my store-brand everything but Target stuff looks downright classy compared to a couple of the 'brands' you mentioned!

Thanks for the tip on the collodial silver and Golden seal powder! We use a LOT of alternative remedies around here, but I hadn't heard of those. The golden seal will be especially helpful as L is constantly cutting himself at work.

Jeannie: I think they carry womens, I'm not big into designer stuff but they seem like thye've improved from the hard as a rock dark blue stovepipes they used to be.

Sornie: Target? that's too high class for me ;)

jenny: Blogging makes me sweaty ;)

Stucco: a lefty wouldn't be caught dead in wranglers ;D

burfica: It's like putting a belt sander down your pants ;)

John but I bet you're clean now ;)

tshsmom: you won't be dissapointed :)

mcewen: yep, I'm hooked on headache powder, I just take it as a preventative because I have three kids.

Scarlet: better than bleach without the burn :)

I've tried the jeans and the soap. Never once, though, have I thought about using it anywhere I keep constantly covered. Fantastic, though, for getting clean after working on trucks. Learned that one from my dad. It's what he uses when he is done working on his (or somebody else's) log truck.

Mmm, Mmmm, Mmm - gotta love a man in a pair of Wranglers!

Lava on the nether regions? That must be what my brother speaks of when he says he'd rather have his balls sanded than to do [fill in the blank].

Lava is good shtuff. For some reason, I had a devil of a time finding it in Florida. It's all over here in Texas, which is as it should be.

Haven't heard on any of these products in NZ and don't even know if we can get them over here.

Oh, except Wrangler jeans. Hmmmm, is that why Levi's got cheaper and fall apart quicker??
