Summer

It's been hot as hell here. Me and the kids have been doing inside stuff mostly.

They've got plenty of toys, games and computers to keep them busy.

When I was a kid the heat didn't seem so unbearable and I would run around in that shit all day.

These days I'm soaked as soon as I walk outside. The sun beating down feels like exactly that.

I did take the kids to see the night at the museum. Godamn what a shitty boring pointless movie. To make matters worse, these baby factories let their demon spawn run all over the theater during the movie.

We finally got up and moved to the far side away from that shit... The day wasn't a complete waste because the kids seemed to enjoy the pointless bullshit antics on the screen.

We've got the wife's family reunion coming up next week. We got the seperate house again, even though everyone else keeps trying to steal it. They wouldn't be so eager if they new that shit costs an extra 400 bucks...but well worth it so we can drink, have our own fridge and listen to my John Valby collection on my stereo.

Why not have the reunion somewhere else where everyone can have their own private place to get away?

My wife's reunion is kinda in your area in November. We'll be spending a couple days in San Antonio. Thanks of the heads up on the movie. We'll pass...

Jeannie: We did that for a couple of years and it worked out pretty well, but the lodge started treating us shitty and doubled their rates.

The family likes this place because it is a "Christian" retreat.

I feel sorry for you guys in that heat. I look forward to the heat here, but I know it doesn't even come close to what you're experiencing.

Sorry, but I can't help thinking that John Valby sounds like the voice of one of those Muppet characters.

It has been hat here too. Even the beach is no relief.

As a kid the heat did not seem to blither me either.

Separate houses is the only way I do family gatherings anymore. I am getting older and crankier these days.

Great tune.

We tried to go see that Night at the Museum movie last night, but it was cancelled due to needing another theatre for Transformers.

I still want to see it though, even though you said it sucked. I am a Ben Stiller fan...(okay put the rocks down, he still makes me laugh). :-)

Sounds well worth the 400 bucks extra.

What' a family reunion without a little distance from actual family, and a drink keeps it all nice and civil, huh?

It's been really hot down here but I've been painting outside anyway. It will get me ready for next month because you know it will be hot as hell....
The hubby's family reunion is this weekend. I hope his bat shit crazy aunt is nice because I really don't feel like starting WW III.

That John Valby really needs to quit holding back his feelings so much.

Have fun at the reunion, Hammer.

My wife likes that kind of movie, so there is no escape for me. But if I want to see "Gran Torino" or something like that at the movie, it's not on because "it doesn't have a happy ending."

i went out to the garden to pick green/wax beans, squash and peppers about an hour ago and the scene from THE GODFATHER where marlon brando keeled over dead kept playing through my mind - it was so stinking hot! i hightailed it back to the house.
