Hammer re your prvious post... still can't get over the steak knive. I persume it was a splinter, not scraple... though... a steak knife???!!! I mean it just isn't shrp enough! And how do you get ahold of the fucker? Another time you might wanna use sharp injection needled to dig underneath the splinter, before cutting it out with something SHARP. Works much better and don't forget to desinfect it! usdually sewing it up is not that important, it's just a neurotic idea, taht doctors have... spider poison... I understand you take whatever you can reach fast enough... but who has a steak knife with him in the wilderness???
jewellery: hm, I think, I'd prefer a good knife! Mind you I got a new knife sharper in Lapland... was just stupid to try it out in such an ignorant way to see if it really worked... it worked alright! And that's the most important thing!

Sarah: I used the steak knofe because it was serrated and I could scrape out the dead tissue and not worry about cutting too deep. I use goldenseal powder for a disinfectant.
