I've seen Aerosmith live quite a few times since my first concert of theirs in early '83. Joe f'ing Perry wasn't with them then... soooo sooooo glad they reunited later as he's my favorite of the 'toxic twins'. LOL I think I kinda know what you mean about 'boring' in that when they made their comeback with Walk This Way and Run DMC, they sort of just had a bunch of 'MTV' type songs for awhile and played to that crowd. You know, alot of the 'blue army' was getting older and they needed a new generation to listen and keep them going.
But I've seen them ALOT and their concerts are terrific. When they put Seasons of Wither back in their song set I was thrilled.
To me, anyone who's still writing music, still touring, still loving what they do at SIXTY years old will never be boring! But they are my favorite rock band so what else could I say. hehe
Dude, you are rocking today! Aerosmith is one of my MOST favorite bands! Man, I love Steven Tyler! Paint it black is my favorite Stones song! And I love House of the Rising Sun!
They all look so young! It's funny looking at these old videos - the Animals walking around the stage ... with no leads going to the amps...we used to crack up even as kids when they showed crap like this on tv because we knew they were only "mouthing" it (wasn't called lip synching back then)
God I can not wait for the Aerosmith concert this summer! I know folks say they got boring after they quit the drugs and the booze....but that's about the same time I discovered them.
Gonna go make memories with the kid. This concert is gonna rock. Not boring in my book.

House of the rising sun is pure classic gold.

GREAT choices!!
Ditto what Maeve said!
All three cuts are great ones. "Paint It Black" is my all-time favorite Stones record.

Good choices Hammer, but I'd have gone with "Street Fighting Man" instead of "Paint It Black".

"House of the Rising Sun" was the first song I learned on the guitar :)
Great old songs here, Hammer.
Excellent choices on All 3! :)
Paint It Black has always been one my Stones favorites too...
BTW, I do believe the House of the Rising Sun is an old church hymn out of New Orleans...
Thank you for those great selections!
Love the old Stones stuff. Have their Hot Rocks double CD set that covers their 1964-'71 stuff. Excellant! Their last good album was Some Girls.
I saw Aerosmith 30 years ago this July. The Cleveland concert where Tyler and Perry fought and split afterward. They were rockin' on stage though!
