Old weird song Friday

I heard some of these songs on internet radio recently and I was thinking..Holy shit I'm getting old. These are a few nostalgic ones that I fondly remember listening to on the AM radio as a kid.

Golly Mr Peabody! Your Way-Back Machine really works! My Dad bought a 99 cent Winchester Cathedral Album at Safeway. Thanks for reminding me of him!JG

Tough when your favorite songs are all languishing in the oldies bin at the big box store

Those take you waaaaay back. Black and white TV. Transistor radios. Freshie and Kool-Aid. Drive-in A&W.

We went to Winchester Cathedral several times when we lived in Britain. Every time I was there, I thought of this song.

And yeah, I'm old, too ... ;-)

I cringed the first time I heard a song from my high school days on the "oldies" station. "WTF? That's not an oldie!"

Ah and alas, I was wrong.

Hammer, Hammer, Hammer...if you could remember Perry Como and Tennessee Ernie Ford or Rickie Nelson singing live on tv in black and white, THEN I might think of you as getting old. :-)
