Explaining stuff
Some people call me a know it all. They think I have an answer for anything...well I do about most things except when people ask me why people behave a certain way..then I have to just wing it.
Daughter #1 "Dad why is that woman drinking coffee and putting on makeup while she's driving?"
Hammer: "I don't know honey, maybe she's just stupid."
Daughter#1: "How did she get stupid."
Hammer: " I dunno maybe her mom and dad were stupid too"
Daughter #1 "Dad, can people catch stupid like germs?"
Hammer: "No but if kids are raised by stupid people then they might grow up not knowing any better"
Daughter: " If I do something stupid does that mean I'm stupid too?'
Hammer: "Only if you do it over and over and never learn from the consequences"
Daughter: " You tell me when I do bad things ok because I don't want to be like that woman"
Hammer: " no problem it's a deal"
Daughter " Oh look that stupid woman got caught by the police mans..is she going to jail"
Hammer: " Yeah probably, it looks like she made the policeman spill his coffee"

Wonderful to be back and reading your inner thoughts again...they are very good you know.
That's some great communication you've got going on! Keep up the good work! ;)
i'll never forget the time, when our son was not quite six, saw someone walking ahead of us into a store drop a cigarette onto the sidewalk, run up, scoop up the cigarette and run to the person holding it out to them and said, "'scuse me mister, but there's an ashtray RIGHT THERE!" then he went into his "only pigs litter" rant - thought i'd have to duke it out with the guy!
Hell yes Hammer If they learn it they keep it.
OK, but is it sooooo wrong to apply a little lipstick while waiting at the red light????
I don't actually DO that, eh, uh, hmmm, NO not ME. Just wondering. ;)
She shows more sense than half the so-called adults I know.
Ah, if only the police could stop every single person I see doing something stupid while driving.
Well she's is a SMART gurlie lol.. You have to adore the truth that spews out of the mouths of babes~
Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid.
I once heard that the difference between ignorance and stupid is that ignorance can be corrected, stupidity is forever.
cute story.
I don't know, I have a theory that the dumber you are, the happier you are (with some exceptions).
1st, if you're very smart, then you are surrounded by idiots. Many geniuses have a hard time dealing with normal people and social situations.
2nd, if you are a moron, chances are you're too stupid to know that. You also are too stupid to realize anything going wrong is really your fault, so you blame all your problems on others. You also don't worry about the future (no stress!) figuring everything will work itself out with no help from you. Compare that with smart people worrying about the economy, their stocks and retirement plans. Constant worry.
3rd, when smart people get together at a party, they drink. When they drink, they get dumber. When they get dumber, they get happy and have a lot of fun.
See, I'm a GENIUS!!!!! (see #2)
Somebody once said, "there is no such thing as a stupid question" to which I replied, "only stupid people".
Chris is right. The world punishes smart/performing people and usually rewards the stupid.
Dummies don't do half the work that the rest of people do, no one's allowed to mention the underperformance and they get the same pay (more if they're management--which they sooner or later will be).
That is one smart little girl you have there.
The saying that beauty is only skin deep/ugly goes to the bone must also be true about smart/dumb folks.
The whole "inherited stupidity" epidemic is why people should have to take a test before receiving permission to have sex. That very big bortherish but if you met my extended family, you'd understand why I feel this way.
*LOL*
Sharp kid.
Good daddy.
Ha! Good lesson, Dad!
You're so lucky to have a kid who's not afraid to ask questions. I have two that I can barely get a word out of, and one that will talk about anything. (Of course that one is the girl.) It's so much easier to have open communication when your kids are open to it.
Very observant kids there. Mine were always in their own world in the car and had no interest in whats passing by outside.
