So far so good

I was able to get out of my chair today and move around some. Now I know what a freaking zombie feels like. Two weeks of mindless TV and informercials have rotted my brain.

I was having fitful fevered nightmares about being attacked by evil kitchen miracle appliances. I also watched a lot of old movies on the "on demand" feature on the cable box to cheer myself up.

Sudden impact, police academy, Cheech and Chong, Conan the Barbarian, Every which way but loose. just to name a few. I think I lost a few IQ points in the process.

When I finally got upstairs to my computer I was dismayed to find that Windows had taken a dump. I spent most of today reinstalling everything. I'm trying to keep a good attitude. There isn't any point in getting grumpy about life's little curveballs.

I'll be spending the next few days catching up with everyone's blogs. Can't wait to see what everyone's been up to.

not to be a nitpicker, but this is beginning to sound suspiciously like the t.m.i. post a little further down the line...just me thinking out loud, again...can't wait for you to get back to abnormal.

I have seen Armagedon about 8 times over this weekend. I'm begining to hate that movie.

I know what you mean about the infomercials my most hated one is the one trying to get you to buy and rent or sell houses. This dam town isn't big enough for that, so it just pisses me off.

Aside from the movie selection, I am glad to see you are feeling better. I wonder how many movies have been made starring some sort of primate?

Good to see you're back and on the mend. Glad I stopped by today because I haven't laughed that hard all day. Peace out and f*ck those curveballs.

Windoze craping out just when you're getting back on your feet is Natures way of reminding you that you aren't in any way shape or form in charge.

Glad to see you're feeling better! Even if it's just a little bit. Sorry to hear 'bout your computer, buddy. You could always buy a Mac. *snerk* I don't drink the Kool-Aid, used Windows for years and it worked fine for me, but I wasn't willing to become a beta tester for Vista when I had the money to upgrade to something that was actually proven.

Glad you are feeling better. Even if your brain is now marshmallows.

Mac it's the way to go. I have a Windows network admin degree and now that I bought a Mac I'll never own another windows machine again. (The hubby has to cuz the programming world is owned by microsoft) But as for me NEVER.

Those sound like some good flicks. I have Direct TV on satellite, but most of the good movies are "pay per view".

I am always amazed at the commercials of daytime TV. Personal injury attorneys, vocational schools, etc. What a horrible existence for those who have to be entertained by this stuff day after day.

Good luck getting back to computer normal and pounding out more posts! Hope this is the last debilitating sickness for awhile. It was getting to a point where you were needing a 24 hour nurse! Welcome back.

Glad to hear you are on the mend to recovery. I liked the Police Acamdemy series though. I wish i had that one on tape but they dont even have them on DVD. They stopped making them completely from what I have heard.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, and a little mindless cinimatic masturdation never hurt anyone. Thing is, admit it, you already knew the lines to all those movies by heart, didn't you?

Oh, and mine needs to crash. Slow as hell, but so long as it works I'm gonna keep usin' it.

I love me some Cheech and Chong and isn't that little gal in Conan just the hottest little number in those flimsy/wispy outfits!

I've been through a hard drive and an XP crash within the last 3 months...don't you just hate it!

It's good to hear that you're feeling well enough to grumble a teeny bit...always a good sign.

On the bright side, your recovery is just in time for the Christmas preparations. Chin up, Hammer!

Shit Hammer!!! I'm so sorry I've only just caught up on this news! I'm so glad you are on the mend and really sorry it has been a really rough time. I've only known one man who got pneumonia and he was REALLY sick, close to dying I think - lost LOADS of weight and looked absolutely terrible!! I had it when I was 3months old - but can't remember anything about it!! Bet Mum does though - she nursed me at home.

Anyway, I'm really glad you're back - it was so nice seeing your name on my blog comments again =)

The thing I find weird about being sick is that the rest of the world goes on around you and you feel like time stands still!

Thank goodness for your wife and kids looking after you. I can see why they do though =D

not to keep lecturing you, but having just gone through this business, you need to remember slow & steady wins the race. Don't over-tire yourself. I'll bet THanksgiving cooking was an adventure in zombie-hood, with all the pneumonia-induced letheragy?

Windows must have missed you and so decided it needed attention. Sigh.

It sounds like you are still feeling under the weather Hammer.

The movies you listed are supposed to help increase the IQ, not decrease it. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Happy to see you back, stuffed like a turkey with all those good medecines.
You're healed, you're safe, after sometimes you'll stop taking them and everything will be back to normal, life is beautiful.
