Post eight facts about myself that not everyone knows.

Choose eight fellow bloggers and leave them a tag in their comment section….

Here goes.

1. I keep a lot of secrets. No one "really" knows me completely.

2. I'm a worrier and always plan everything out extensively although it doesn't always appear that way.

3. I have a overwhelming fear of losing my wallet and keys. I've had the same key ring since 1989.

4. I have frequent dreams about cars I've sold and it always involves getting them back somehow.

5. I'll pay $8 for a bottle of fancy Trappist Ale but cringe at paying more than $5.99 for bottle of Cabernet.

6. I go out of my way to be kind to strangers who least expect it. I think it makes me happier than it makes them.

7. I'm superstitious because the ceremony of it helps me keep control of my fears and insecurities, not that I really believe that certain actions prevent bad luck.

8. Sometimes I wonder what point this life has and doubt that existence has any meaning whatsoever. It keeps small problems in perspective but overall, tends to be a depressing outlook on life.

I'll hold off on tagging at this time. until I see who has already done it.

I love doing these, and will answer the questions after my favourite radio show is over at 10pm EST.

THERE, I've just tagged myself. Like I said, I love these "meme's"!

Ha! I have you beat - I have had the same key chain I got for Christmas when I was 16 - and have used it constantly since then - that would be 1975.

Anxiety makes us do some pretty weird shit.

I've done it, but only 7!

Like seeing you had your priorities straight on your booze!

Same here!

Hammer,
Number One made me sad... I always want to think that I truly know someone.

I'm a planner and a scheduler and very organized. I worry, and then I realize I'm trying to control the outcome, and then I realize something isn't making me happy about the situation or I wouldn't be so worried, and then...

Deborah: can't wait to see it :)

Jeannie: that is a long time to keep an everyday item!

Annie: Don't worry, no big surprises, I guess I just measn that I keep my worries and personal problems a secret as to not burden others and complicate my life even more.

I plan and schedule and if things
go south I just take consolation in the fact that at least I tried.

I've been known to toss a little salt over my left shoulder from time to time...

Sometimes I wonder what point this life has and doubt that existence has any meaning whatsoever

But then someone tags you with a meme and everything falls into place once again. Right? Right? :)

Great list Hammer ...
Your final item made me think about faith vs. blind faith... and, imho, sometimes it's easier to have blind faith.

Hammer, I'm surprised that after all your blogging that you would have any secrets left to reveal.

i have already been tagged, but have yet to do this one...

I am kind to strangers too, just to prove that there can be kind people in this world.

Hammer,

Like yourself, my kids call me methodical. I have the same fear of losing my wallet and keys so they always land in the same place. Every time. When they don't the kids know to run and hide. (Especially the boy when he takes them as a prank)

Just read the JUly 4 blog. Brilliant. I do think the founding fathers would be appalled by what we have become.

I can relate to the fear of losing my wallet ever since I lost it at age 16 in the ball pit of a Burger King restaurant.

I keep a lot of secrets too. I started blogging so that I can relieve some of them but now I feel I can't because too many people I care about read me.

That ended a bit depressingly! Dreaming of cares huh!

I have a tendency to keep things until I can no longer glue, stitch or weld them back together. It’s not so much because I ‘m a tightwad, but more out of a need to have souvenirs and such that provide a link between past and present.

wtg on #6. I agree and try to do the same thing. I figure anyone and everyone can use a friendly word and/or a smile now and again. Keep it up..

Hammer,
I used to be like you as far as #1. But then, some well-publicized screw-ups later, my life is an open book. Much easier to keep track of the truth.

Loved the list.

Very very interesting. Especially #1 & 8. I admire the fact that you tell us some of these things. I think it's brave.

You already know that we have #2 in common. ;)
I have NEVER lost my keys! Hubby loses his at least twice a year. I always keep a set of spare keys around for him. I'm extra careful with the new car keys, that cost $50-$100 to copy. :(
I've found that big-city people can be suspicious of kindness, but I do it anyway!

Good stuff, I also enjoy being kind to strangers more than being kind to people I know, that's because people I know expect it and take it for granted while strangers have a glint of faith in humanity in their eye; which is priceless to me.

The only thing I've kept for over 10 years is a bookmark my mom gave me, which says to always believe in myself. :)

phosgene: right there with ya bud :)

Dan: yep I usually get over the last one.

skinny: This is true, I have my moments though :)

Lex: I probably don't have any left I'm willing to reveal ;D

infini: Yeah that's probably my base motivation too.

flyinfox: Luckily my kids just hide the remote :)

Mystic wing: thank you, I think so too.

Sornie: I'm not going to ask what you were doing in the ball pit ;)

Carrie: You and I both :)

Jenny: yeah, I guess it did.

Slaghammer: I can identify with that completely, as soon as I toss something I end up needing it.

Jerry: I tell the truth unless it's hurtful, I keep secrets to keep others from worrying about me :)

canadian: It feels good to be kind to people, better than prozac :)

KB: thank you. I try to open up a little now and then when challenged with a meme.

kirsten: You had some interesting ones!

tshsmom: Those 100 keys are a killer, I can't say where my spares are though :(

la cremiere: People I know do take it for granted just as you say. But someone who you may never see again really appreciates it.
