Back in one piece.

I left Grandma's at 3AM and got to my house at exactly 6PM There were massive thunderstorms most of the way which really slowed me up.

Luckily I stayed on IH 35 the whole way for 813 miles so there wasn't much navigating to do.

I stopped for Gas once and to let the kids pee twice. They were pretty good behavior-wise. I loaded up the car with chocolate bars, soda and doughnuts to keep them happy. They got high on sugar then went to sleep.

The other drivers were actually pretty courteous except for a few truckers that tried to run me off the road. Actually, Only two people trying to kill me in 800 plus miles is better than the average road trip.

Needless to say, I'm like the walking dead so I'll get back to full time blogging in the morning.

WELCOME HOME FAMILY HAMMER!!!

1. Glad that the tornadoes missed you.

2. Glad that the visit was so happy for all.

3. Why don't other parents follow your simple rules to avoid the "are we there yet" syndrome?

4. Only two truckers and no major problems from other drivers? That's almost a record for that long a drive.

5. Hope that everyone has a peaceful sleep.

6. YEAH!!!, but there's no pressure to blog immediately. As soon as you open your eyes is soon enough.

Glad to hear that you & your family made it home safely. That's pretty amazing that a) you got your kids not to bug the shit out of you & b) that you only met two assholes, especially since the majority of drivers are either assholes or idiots.

oh man long long drive. And welcome home hun.

When my son and I went to Texas it was a 2 day trip to get there. He was very insistent he wanted to go home in one day. I told him there will be no "are we there yet's" and he was good and just ate and slept. We left Texas at 2 in the morning and got in to Az at 9 that night which would have been 11 texas time. So...about 21 hours driving.

Better than average? Hell, I have more people than that try to kill me just driving a couple of miles from home.

Sounds like a grueling trip. Glad you made it in one piece. Those truckers can be assholes some times, but so can people in cars, like it's the Indi 500 out there.

Welcome home. Glad you made it safely. I have had a few long road trips with my gremlins and I guess I am lucky because they are pretty good now...for the most part. It is usually me that has to stop to pee...gotta love being a diabetic..lmao.
