Kids and dogs.

The kids and I were having fun watching youtube videos last night.

Their favorite game is find a top 40 song on the billboard charts from the year someone is born and find a youtube video for it.

It's really difficult to find songs for the years my kids were born because it's either too sexual or it's rap and hiphop..which I don't allow in my house.

But we did find a few good ones. they even liked the oldies from when their mom and I were born.

Marvin the dachsund was watching videos with us, actually he was not paying much attention until I played California Girls by David Lee Roth. Marvin sat up and put his face right up to the screen and watched the whole video very intently. I think he must have a thing for girls in bikinis. Very weird. The kids were howling with laughter and made me play the video two more times.

They decided to bring our other dog "Rusty' upstairs to watch videos as well. He is still a puppy and was not interested in music videos. So they put on a video of a dog playing frisbee. Rusty was fascinated and followed every move. At one point he tried to jump through the computer screen to get the frisbee. It was hilarious.

The action must have been a little too intense for poor Rusty. He got motion sickness and threw up all over the desk.

Your dogs sound quite smart, watching videos - my cat never even watches tv unless it's a cat food commercial :)

That's a great way to bond with the kiddies. My daughter loves You Tube. We'll have to try this and let the dogs join in on the fun!

You've got some pretty smart dogs! The only thing my dog ever did was look at the t.v. if she heard a dog bark. Cats are even less interested in youtube.

The little girl and I have been playing on you tube quite a bit lately...

Her number one request? Old episodes of The Muppet Show. A show that went off the air some 25 years before she was born. (That's my girl).

That is too awesome that you don't let your kids listen to rap! I admire you even more now.

The only things I watch on Youtube is "Is it a Good Idea to Microwave This," "Angry Video Game Nerd," and skateboard accidents. None of it good fodder for the kids...

That game sounds like alot of fun. I checked out my year, 1964, and found Petula Clark, Downtown and The Addams Family Theme. Cool. :)

i used to play songs for my children in the womb by putting headphones up to my stomach - all three are musicians and can play multiple instruments and both girls are singers and the eldest records and leads praise and worship. music is one of the best things in life you can give your children.

when the eldest was a little girl, she'd start singing a song from years gone by and say, "hey - how'd i know that song?!?"

name it and claim it!

Rusty Rocks!

I have the same issues looking at Youtube for something like that as well...I police Youtube here at my house very heavily.
