Found this little gem

So When Does The Catholic Jihad Start?

Uh oh...

"US President George W Bush drew gasps at the Vatican on Saturday by referring to Pope Benedict XVI as "sir" instead of the expected "His Holiness", pool reporters said."

So when do we get the follow-up articles that start out like this,

"Today, tens of thousands of outraged Catholics took to the streets across the world carrying signs that said, "Behead those that insult the pope!" The riots surged out of control in Italy out of control in Italy after a local politician suggested that Catholics might react in a violent fashion to the slur against the Pope. 18 people were killed in the rioting.

Meanwhile, a Catholic suicide bomber blew himself up on a Texas schoolbus, killing 31 small children to protest the insult to the Pope. In reaction to the bombing, the Catholic League issued a statement warning people not to blame Catholics for violence while simultaneously calling for new laws to prevent people from calling the Pope "sir."

Oh wait, wrong religion...

Hammer, you really know how to stir up the hornet's nest don't you?!

It is sad that Religions in all extremes are bad and that people fall prey to them.

Only a small group of narrow-minded religious extremists could get their knickers in a knot over something so infinitesimal as how someone addresses the Pope. No one need bother wishing me to damnation, as I've a big R.C. stamped on my chest. That's what happens at an R.C. baptism, for those of you who aren't in the same flock. Hammer, you do know how to brighten the day.

When is that asshole president Not going to make a show of himself, his idiotic presence seems to insult protocol every where he goes - hes the american version of Prince Phillip. On the other hand catholics can get pissed off with people of the wrong religious pursuasion just like protestants - the result of intolerance runs into over a couple of hundred years on these isles the numbers may not match those of muslim extreamists jihads but the carnage is equally bloody and extreame..

It sounds like some of the commenters here think this really happened. The President has people who handle protocol and tell him how to address various dignitaries. If I remember right, it's acceptable to call the Queen of England "ma'am", but I'm not sure how you address other royalty. My view is, these people have earned the right to be called by their titles, or come to them by birth, and only a Communist or a guerrilla or a dipshit would ignore such social niceties as referring to them to their faces by their proper title, much as it would stick in their craws - I wouldn't curtsy to the Queen, but I wouldn't insult her by calling her "honey" either.

Getting back to the point of that post-it shows how "civilized" the Catholic religion for example would handle such a gaffe, in comparison to the Islamic extremists. It makes my head hurt to try to wrap my brain around why those people get all het up over something so small, but probably it's a matter of what's important to them isn't that important to us.

SO true my man. SO regrettable that we can't just turn the place to glass. Remember The Day The Earth Stood Still? The dude shows up and says, "Hey, you guys are a bunch of babies, and if you can't play nice, the rest of us in the galexy are gonna put yer lights out. You don't have the right to fuck things up for everyone else." But then, that's why fiction is fiction. Too bad.
