Hammer you gotta take a look at this! Watch out for the frog splash and the moment of contact of terra firma - the bear in question was stuck up a tree in suburbia and the police had to tranquilise him out of the tree and use a trampolene for 'safety'. I think the bear would argue that one

don't laugh - a similar incident happened to us and our neighbors one night - my dog chased a 200 or so pound black bear out of our yard onto our neighbor's deck and 1/8 mile away - their dogs awakened them to find the bear straddled on their deck railing sucking the nectar out of their hummingbird feeders - he unloaded his 9mm into it...

Awsome bear. He must have been hungry to climb upside down to get to that bird feeder. Yikes. Reminds me of when hubby was in the Corps and they made him to to this one place to do before stuff before he finally left. He had to walk on wires as far up as telephone wires and stuff. You wouldnt get me up there.

I know they're really vicous and dangerous, but bears just always look like they're in need of a hug.

Bears that start encroaching on human areas are very dangerous to pets and children. Sometimes a animal control officer will opt to put them down.

Can't speak for the guy who shot the bear but I guess it depends on the situation.

Reminds me of the old story of how to tell a grizzly bear from a black bear.

You kick the bear in the ass as hard as you can, then climb up a tree.
If the bear climbs up the tree and eats you, it is a black bear.
If the bear knocks the tree down and eats you, it is a grizzly.

black bears are the most dangerous kind.
(next to polar)

still makes me sad for the shot bear tho.

not sure how i would have handled it.
