#23 Not my SUV

On the lighter side...

(note) this is probably an anti Gas Guzzler song ...But I like my SUV so I'm actually on the pro side of this debate. My fully loaded Expedition gets 27mpg if I use the cruise control at 60mph.

My Charger with the Hemi shuts down to 4 cylinders when cruising and gets fantastic highway mileage. I think it's more the way people drive than the car itself.

That pretty much sums up the prevailing American attitude, for sure.

I'm actually pushing for a move to biodiesel at our house...

I want a small SUV but he wont let me right now. Just something I can transport the kids around in. He keeps telling me I need a mini grocery getter. LOL.. I keep saying I dont mind but when will I get one? Life moves on without me on the roads though. Nice video.

I drive a gas guzzling suv also but only cause now I'm stuck with it and cant afford to buy anything else. But now gas is so high I can't really afford to go anywhere.

I've got a "little" trailblazer. I badmouthed SUV's for years (in spite of the fact that my Dad had an Explorer 25 years ago.)

I had SUVs back when they were called Full Size K5 Blazers and had 2 doors and plow rigs. That's where the "Sport" in Sport Utility came from. Now they're more for tiny little mommies to drag kids around or for grocery runs. Same thing mini-vans were invented for. The industry ruined the true SUV by giving the market a name. Soon as people saw the word "Sport" the bastards went wild. Now they're four door family vehicles and cost well over 40 grand. Damn shame.

Nice credit roll by the way! I like the way it moves by. And thanks for the continued shout out!

True dat.

Personally, I like the small cars (VWs, Hondas... and of course the Mini) but there's nothing wrong with driving an SUV if it fits your needs.

Jocelyn: Indeed at least where I live.

tweety: prices of SUV's are hitting rock bottom with the price of gas these days. Even the small ones get the same mileage as the large ones.

snowmanpoop: luckily I don't drive much I fill up every three weeks or so.

John: glad you liked it!

Jeannie: the tink that gets me are the people that drive them like sports cars with a cell phone glued to their ear.

JP: I miss the old blazers and broncos and stuff. My SUV is a glorified beefed up minivan that can take a hit and not open up like a beer can.

The credits are a little better I think.

minjohnb: I like old VW bugs myself. I would rather drive one of those around town.

Deborah: Thanks so much! Do you have a website or blog I can visit?

Mushy: Damn straight, if can feed it everyone should STFU about what we choose to drive.

Gigantor was on the fire dept, and picked up bodies out on the highways all the time. He knows which vehicles stand up and which don't. So until they can make one that gets 40mpg that stands up to what it needs. I will drive my gas guzzler while out on the highway. Anything to keep my family a bit safer.

I have no idea what mileage my car gets. Probably somewhere between 20 and 40 MPG.

I like your blog. you know why? It's one of the last places I can go where some awful music doesn't start blasting the moment the page loads.

oh ... and you're funny! :)

Burfica: I hear ya, I've been hit many times and always remained unscathed because I was in a tank.

snowmanpoop: hurray :)

dan: thank you much. I'll not do that lawrence welk html thing then :)

With what the price of gas is going to be you will wish your SUV got a hell of a lot more than 27 MPG.

O' well, a tank of gas lasts me a month because I walk and bike a lot.

Ever think about the pollution created to build that SUV?

Well, I don't know that you even care about pollution and the planets health.

If you are only here for one trip, a short time, why should you?

Only, those kids will have to deal with it all in twenty years.

My best guess is that they might be calling you an idiot. Just saying. Hugs.

I feel as long as the fuel is being used wisely and hopefully is renewable, do whatever the hell you want but everyone has their own opinions and I respect that.

I laugh at the large SUV owners who are paying $70 or more to fill up right now. It's only going to start hurting more. I pay $40 to fill up my 15 gallon tank on my '06 Rav-4, and I'm takin it like a man. lol

I could also be getting better gas mileage than my current 24mpg, but I also readily admit that I drive that bastard like I stole it. There's just something about 270 horses that does it to me. lol

Excellent. I love my little solara, but as soon as it's paid for I'm gonna be lookin' for another Jeep, to play with.

BBC - When the kids get the bill for my baby boomer social security, and some rag headed fucker has set off a dirty bomb somewhere, they'll be looking to do the feel good thing too. Remember, the Mayan calendar says it all goes tit's up in 2012, and that shit's never wrong, so drink up.

It's all about perspective. The planet survived super volcanoes and planet killing comets. It'll survive us.
