Recipe: Taj mahal pizza

I had a pizza the other day. It was called a taj mahal.

Ingredients:

One large pre made pizza crust.

Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt
add:

6 oz of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup canned garbanzo beans
1/4 cup pickled jalapenos
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 Tbs curry powder
1 /2 cup green olives
1 cup red onion sliced thin
Bake at 425 for 8 to 10 min

It may sound weird but it is delicious.

It actually does sound pretty good - but dry...I'd be tempted to use hummus or at least mash the garbanzos

jeannie: that would work, The cheese, olive oil and onions actually keep it pretty moist but if you're used to tomato sauce it may seem a little on the dry side.

etain: thanks for visiting, I thought it sounded weird but I ate it on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised.

BBC: Not generally if you get the kind in the glass jar. the ones in the can are sometimes really hot.

dazd: It's one of my new favorites.

Happy Wednesday, Hammer !

YOur recipes are always good but I would hesitate to make this one due to the curry and beans. But hey, I've been surprised before at my age! While the raisins may sound strange, I know that they are the basis for some wine flavors, therefore, ya can't go wrong!

Sorry, I am still trying to figure out the BBQ chicken pizza...

hey what bbq chicken pizza??? I want the recipe to that one.

I'm only hesitating on that jalepeno's and curry. After a couple abdominal surgeries I can't take hot at all. It tears me up to the point of needing to go to the hospital. hehehehe

Curry Pizza? I guess thats fusion fast food - India/Italy. Except that Pizza was invented in the US and curry like that in the UK. I like hot - in Germany all pizzas come with pickled jalapenos...

annie: thanks, happy wednesday :)

l>t I'm sure all kinds of variations can be made, the curry, white cheese and lack of tomato sauce makes the base idea.

infinitesimal: I make one like that...with chopped garlic and rosemary too.

nomas: I'm sure there are substitutions, not everyone likes garbonzos, I bet artichoke hearts would be a good replacement.

steven: lol you should see it ;)

dan: hehe wait till you smell it. You'll need a sponge strapped to your chin ;)

phosgene: lol, I made a pizza once with the meat from hotwings. My son said it was good.

burfica: I see your point. Could be a dangerous combination for some folks.

mutley: very good point. Almost all Chinese food served here in the states was invented in America too. The Indian restaurant I frequent also has many things that I'm sure never came from South Asia.

Hammer,

Sorry, can't eat anything with garbanzos on it...They sound like a circus act! "And now for the flying Garbanzos!" Nope, not my style...but I bet the pizza would have been just as good if they added Chick Peas!
