Kids favorite cassarole

This is a quick and easy dish that everyone seems to like.

Ingredients
2 boxes macaroni & cheese mix. Or 4 packages of instant.
2 cups of cooked and crumbled sausage
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper
4 oz of shredded cheddar cheese

Cook the macaroni normally save the cheese sauce to the side.
Place cooked macaroni noodles in a large baking dish
Stir in cooked sausage, mushroom soup and cheese mix that came with the macaroni.

Stir in cracked pepper

Shred the cheddar cheese on top

Cover an bake at 350F for 20 min
Uncover and bake for 5 more min
Serve with buttered bread sweet peas, green beans or broccoli

This will serve six or more and wll be great for leftovers

This dish was a favorite when I was a kid. These days my children beg to help make this casserole and will eat several large servings before I finally tell them enough is enough.

Enjoy.

I've been having a craving for homemade peanut butter cookies.

Stuffed green peppers.

After the success of the hotdogs in the tortilla, I'm trying this. That reminds me that I need to start putting more recipes up.

You know, when I was in high school, my friend's mom made this delicious cassarole with mac&cheese and what I thought was ground beef. It was wonderful. I've been wanting the recipe ever since.

This may do.

Hmm...I wonder if I can do this properly in a microwave.

If not, I'll figure out how to get that solar cooker in my room working again.

Sounds like something the kids would eat. Used to buy Kraft dinner so the kids could make it. They expected me to make homemade which was just as fast anyway. I rarely make pasta at all now because it doesn't like me.
The hotdog thing sounded really good too but I never buy hotdogs.

Hmm - one of my favorite dishes is Mac & Cheese but I bet my high blood pressure issue wouldn't take too kindly! Ah, heel - who cares - I'll probably make it anyhow.

i used to make this for my brothers (I did all the cooking)
except for i used tunafish (drained) instead of sausage and added some celery and chopped onions, also put the sweet peas righ tin the mix, not on the side, stir them in last.

but no shredded cheddar, we were poor, no extra $$

you don't have to cook it, and I would mix up the mac n cheese like normal too...

yum

I'm going to have to try that. There is another casserole I make with mixed vegetables, hamburger, cheese slices and Kraft dinner that my kids love.

That sounds awesome...do you mix in the milk that usually goes with the macaroni or does the soup take its place???
