OH! So THAT'S Marty Feldman! Hubby keeps making refrences to "Marty Feldman Eyes", and I had no idea who he was.
I still don't understand why you hear a horse every time someone says Frau Whatserface's name in that movie.
I think it's just Mel Brooks humor. She is just so scary that her name spooks the animals.
Marty ruled. Sucks he's no longer with us. That movie is about the funniest thing ever. Came out my freshman year in high school. Mel Brooks is a genious!
"Damn your eyes!" "Too late."
It's because she was horse-faced (she looked like a horse).
PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ!!!
Damn, Peter Boyle is hilarious, too. Never got much out of Mel Brooks humor until recently and saw Young Frankenstein after the Everybody Loves Raymond finale. This should be required viewing in high school.
Absolutely loved "Puttin' on the Ritz" with the mongoloid accent. Died laughing. Also loved the Munster's hot-rod hearse, too cool.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Love is the only thing that can save this poor creature, and I am going to convince him that he is loved even at the cost of my own life. No matter what you hear in there, no matter how cruelly I beg you, no matter how terribly I may scream, do not open this door or you will undo everything I have worked for. Do you understand? Do not open this door.
Inga: Yes, Doctor.
Igor: Nice working with ya.
[Dr. Frederick Frankenstein goes into the room with The Monster. The Monster wakes up]
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Let me out. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. What's the matter with you people? I was joking! Don't you know a joke when you hear one? HA-HA-HA-HA. Jesus Christ, get me out of here! Open this goddamn door or I'll kick your rotten heads in! Mommy!
Young Frankenstein was one weird and crazy ass flick but remains at the top of my list of favorite movies. I think I've seen every episode of the Munsters also. S/F!
"Abby.... Abby Normal, I believe."
One of my favorite movie lines, ever!
