$100 reward for the return of a $4,000,000 Violin

Adding to his distress: The violin valued at $4 million was on loan from
philanthropists Clement and Karen Arrison, of Buffalo, N.Y.
After calling 911 and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Quint was soon in the offices of the Newark Taxi Commission viewing photographs of taxis.Khalil had parked his cab for the night, not knowing that people were trying desperately to find it. After he got word the next morning, Khalil arranged to meet Quint again. Once reunited with the violin, the musician gave the driver $100.Oh yeah, and he gets tickets to see the cheapskate play... whoopty freakin
doo. I bet the insurance company is trying to unpucker it's collective asshole about now. This is about the 3rd missing multi-million dollar intrument left on a train or taxi this year.
And another thing... 911 ignores a college student being murdered but a missing violin puts the frigging city on lockdown.
Who calls 911 for a violin anyway?
It boggles my mind.

people. fustrating isnt it..
Crazy. I wouldn't forget my $100 mp3 player, much less an instrument valued in the millions.
AN even better question is who in the hell drags a multi-million dollar musical instrument around in their travels?
I wouldn't own an instrument that valuable, I would lay awake at night worrying about it. Plus I'd have to have it on lock down in a special fire proof room with climate control.
See that's why I wouldn't own an instrument like that, it would drive me insane! :)
Dirty rotten mo-fos....May nasty karma follow them into the subway.
I'm sorry, but I just cannot get my head around the concept that this cheap asshole simply FORGOT FOUR MILLION BUCKS worth of violin! What? He's probably real glad his balls are firmly attached, I guess.
This is really mind boggling!
and it's sad that a violen is worth more time and effort then a college student...
by the way, first time to your blog..really liked reading it.
thanks

This is what I call stingy!
a $100? what a fuckin' rip off. id hold that shit ransom.
Sad but not surprising. Even here in your comments most people were concerned about the money aspect as opposed to the fate of the college student:(
One time I misdialed 411 information and hit 911 instead, but immediately hung up as I realized I put the wrong # in. It must have connected in the split second. They tried to call back but I was on the other call already and didn't notice the call waiting so they dispatched officers immediately. I had 2 cops at my front door within minutes. So that was great to know, but a little embarrassing.
Shame something went so wrong with the girl who called.
Who carries a violin worth 4 mil in a CAB? Strange....
Hammer, people call 911 for ignorant reasons ALL the time.
They abuse the 911 system just like everything else provided by the government. They think of it either as being free or that it's their right since they pay taxes for it.
Just one reason I left the volunteer department I was on for 19 years.
