Some holiday cheer

We did the tree last night. It has about a 50 year collection of different ornaments from all of our extended families, school projects and gifts from different people. I prefer these kinds of decorations rather than the single theme tree.

No rants today. Chavez got his bloated butt handed to him by the voters.

They released the British teacher from Sudan and she immediately flew her happy ass back home before some crazy raghead could murder her.

I enjoy some happy news once in a while.
Oh yeah here is another lolcats video I made.

The one in the oven would be mine. Crazy cats. Everywhere they don't need to be.

That's EXACTLY the kind of tree we have! Every ornament has a story or memory behind it. Traditional all the way. ;)

Our tree looks very similar. All the crafty ornaments our kids have made throughout their school years are way better than Hallmark decorations - although we've got some of those too...

Funny video. Where do you find all these cats and dogs to pose for you?

I wonder what Paris Hilton is up to these days. Now there's some happy news.

Proof that Chavez is so incompetent he can't even rig an election. He should take some lessons from Putin. Now there's a guy who knows how to rig an election.

Awesome tree, Hammer, and exactly how we decorate ours here at home. I've got stuff from when my kids were in preschool that goes up on the tree, and my youngest is now 17-yo.

Finally did my tree today too. Not as nostalgic as yours but I found some pretty old crap in the box of stuff. Isn't a good news day nice once in a while? I hope it can last more than just one day!

Nice tree. I hope you call it the Family Holiday Tree, or the Solstice Tree. To call it a Christmas tree would be insensitive. Cheers!!

I never knew there was a theme tree until I was a grownup. Our tree has always had old family ornaments, at least the ones that didn't get broken.

love the video!

Nice tree!
Oops... I'm the one who does the themey color tree every year... sometimes pink, sometimes purple, this year red/gold, just posted them on my blog actually before I stopped here.
The traditional ornaments are on another tree. It seemed easier to keep them on a smaller tree than getting lost in the big one.
Happy holidays!

I love love love those lolcat video's.

I love the tree too. That's how ours is. Each ornament we know where we got it, and they have stories. I have some of my mothers, some that are made, some very fine glass one's that were a gift. My fine glass one's go on the tree along with the schooby and sponge bob one, and the bell wreath and snowflake made by the kid. My mother in law calls it junk all thrown together. I call her bitch. hehehehee

I've seen alot of pics of tree's on blogs, and am I the only person that still does garland on my tree?? I haven't seen any garland on any one elses. hehehehe

Great Tree Hammer. I wish we had all the little memory ornaments. But all we have is those balls and lights and garland on our tree. We were really broke Kora's first X-mas so we didnt bother with the Baby's first X-mas ball and such. I wish we would have.

We put up a tree this year because the kids are coming home from school. My daughter said the Chinese people in Vancouver decorate their trees in blue, so my wife put blue bulbs and blue lights on the tree. It does look different.

Personal ornaments tell such great stories. My parents still have an ornament I made when I 5 in kindergarten.

I can't wait until my tree looks like yours!

Hmm I was worried for a moment there. I put you on my google reader [yeah I lose the title of the most technically challenged person on the planet!] so I thought you'd posted and you hadn't turned up the reader.

I'll stop babbling now.

Have you ever tried a blog search on the word 'hammer'? It is not a very useful means of finding your blog.
Cheers

That's great! We did our tree two weeks ago and as I handed over each ornament, one by one, Mollie kept exclaiming "OH! I remember this!" or "I remember making this in 3rd Grade! I can't believe you still have it!"

I agree, those are the best kind of ornaments.

lovely tree! I prefer a broad collection accumulated over years, rather than a pre-fab looking set of new crap every year. Your tree looks perfect!

Love the crap out of the vid - Sassy Sarah Vaughan is one of my favorite singers, and the Peter Gunn theme is one of my favorite songs I've ever performed - it kicks ass in a big way.

This is great news that you're feeling well enough to put up the tree, notice the good news in the world, and make another LOL Cats video......a VERY good time in the Hammer house!

The tree is beautiful and full of the love and warmth at your house. Take care.

People like Chavez don't play by the rules and I figure he'll just find another way to appoint himself dictator for life.

We've got more oil than we know what to do with here in the US, but thanks to environmental extremism we can neither drill for it nor build new processing facilities for it. Gas in America should only be $1.50 a gallon.
