Questions complaints and ponderings

How long are you supposed to stand at a counter unnoticed before you start raising a stink and calling attention to the fact that all 5 people working on the other side have successfully ignored you for the last 5 minutes.

It makes me uptight. Part of me doesn't want to be an obnoxious prick but the other part wants to jump up and down and yell for them to drop their cocks and start taking care of their customers.

Who thought it was a good idea to have a Christmas show program with grade school girls dressed in orange prison jumpsuits dancing to a profane rap song about "getting your freak on"? I am not joking...Very rarely am I that offended. Whoever put that little act together needs to be given a blanket party then shanked.

Who the hell ever decided to put soft core porn on HBO right after a children's movie such as Stewart Little. Don't they think the kids might still be sitting there with the TV on? Then my wife falls asleep watching a movie then the next day I turn on the TV and there's two naked people grindin away. The kids are eating their cereal while I frantically try to get the channel changed to something more wholesome. Who the hell watches porn at 7am on a Tuesday? Gross!

So they want to execute the British teacher in Sudan who let the kids name the bear Mohammed...after another child in the class...not the prophet. Send in the SAS commandos, rescue the teacher and nuke that shithole into a glass parking lot.

Chavez is trying to change Venezuela's constitution so he can be ruler for life like his ass spelunker buddy Fidel Castro. He says he will stop selling oil to the US if we claim the referendum and ballots are rigged....Sounds like he doth protest too much.

Why are we buying their fucking oil anyway? Boycott that shit. I will pull a fucking rickshaw with my family in it before I will support that damn commie regime....Remember... Chavez is Citgo

What is up with all these people killing their children, wives and girlfriends? Hopefully this isn't trend but instead the media just over reporting isolated cases. The news is frigging depressing. My homepage has 7 headline news stories about murder and horrific child abuse. Just drop the bastards off at the nearest gallows. This shit has got to stop.

Hammer,

I too have noticed very similar and disturbing trends in our "CIVIL"- ization- tongue in cheek strongly meant. I'm applled at the apathy of the work ethic- or lack of. I would like to see the following next time this happens to you: -at the Counter- Pull out you cellphone and say loud enough to be heard- 'Well, as the District Manager overall I'm very impressed with the lST TWO STORES I'VE SEEN. raising voice.. I DO HOWEVER HAVE ONE SMALL PROBLEM IN THIS STORE I NEED TO TAKE UP WITH MANAGEMENT.

If you now have attention, or the huddle breaks and there are furious attempts to look busy by the limpo's- Look one directly in the eye and say- well the meeting must've been successful as I see you've all decided what to do! GOOD JOB- with a mock roll of eyes or other suitable expression.......Then walk off looking like you are making notes and be sure to stop pause-and then look back and then continue walking!!
Bet you couldn't pull a needle out of their ass with a Tractor!

I have NO tolerance for slackness- esp. if I did that in Medicine: it could cost a life or at minimum, a major problem.

TV is of Satan and I watch entirely too much of it, and many things I should not watch. I couldn't imaging having little ones to protect!

Thanks for letting me vent as well!!!!!!

John

Hammer...I agree on all points. 'Tis a sick world. I don't know Why-TF, wither, we engage in any diplomatic relations with China, either. They are evil commiue shitwads, and so are the shitty, fall-apart, and life-threatening products they produce and import to us.

I meant "either." Geez, the one time I'm satisfied with my comment and don't bother to do a preview, I make a glaring error. That'll teach me.

You just described our local lumber yard! The only thing that snaps them to attention is when a contractor walks in. They fawn all over the contractor and ignore me, even though I've been standing there ALONE for 20 minutes. And they wonder why they're losing business to Menards.

All my liberal friends think Chavez is some kind of hero. When I heard about his move to make himself "ruler for life", I asked them what they thought of him NOW.

I heard that Citgo is changing their name in a lot of places because of the Chavez boycott. I just can't remember what the "new" name is.

even though citgo is big in these parts, we've been boycotting them and i've noticed that two in the area have changed hands, one to bp.

i could go on and on, but you pretty much covered it all!

mornin'!

The counter - try dropping something noisy on the countertop, like a (closed) box of nails or a bag of lug nuts. Smile at them when they jump.

The Christmas program - okay, that was stupid. The girls were what, ten, eleven? Whose idea is it to make them act sexual before they're adults?

As for the porn, maybe the programmers were having a slow night, wanted something to watch, and didn't realize their show was hooked up to the broadcasting equipment. Other than that, I can't think of a reason. It should have been in its own channel, and not with kids' programming.

A rickshaw? I was considering going up to the student farm and asking if they had a donkey for sale. It's less IQ-damaging than the fumes from brewing bathtub gas with used cooking oil.

I've been noticing that there are more and more reports of killing of "loved ones", especially children. I don't know if it's happened at this rate all along and is just recently being reported more widely, or if it's just one more sign that our civilization (such as it is) is circling the drain faster. I agree-bring back public hangings. The lethal injection is too nice, IMO.

And yeah, baby-nuke the Sudan! And then send in the CIA to assassinate Chavez. If they don't do that anymore, then why isn't anyone else doing it? Everyone knows Chavez is a huge threat to the stability of South America. How do these nutcases get into power anyway?

Unbelievable about the kids in orange jumpsuits.

I never buy Citgo...besides, they are usually the rattiest looking places anyway.

We need to bring public punishment back...nothing like a good whipping or hanging to get the attention of the bad boys and girls!

You're right Hammer I 100per cebt agree with you.
I still worry a lot for the teacher I wonder if she will make it alive.
In France, that's very very sad that we need Chavez to free hostages, diplomacy is the key. So we have to keep quiet, one of the most favorite Chinese sayings.

Last night my man's parents stayed at our place so we walked down the road in the (ugh) snow and went to White Spot to eat. We walk in and there is a group of people waiting all ready to be seated. After about a few minutes the hostess comes to seat them. But didn't come back to seat us. Five minutes go by. We are saying things like "Are we invisible?" My man moved the stand around, mucked around with the decorations, and even someone eating at a table not far away calls out in jest, "I'll be with you in a moment". We laugh. Nearly another 5 minutes goes by, and we are trying to decide if we should just wait for her to come seat us and tell her we are leaving. When she finally came she was joking and trying to be sassy. I never will eat there again. It wasn't the first time we have had such bad service there.

I can't stand that type of bad service. It wasn't busy, we could have sat ourselves. NO TIPS that is for sure.

And yes, what the hell is with the porn on TV?! It shocks me too.

I rarely watch the news in the mornings anymore due to the disturbing and depressing reports.

Some of the shows on the kids channels are getting out of hand too. I made my nephew change the channel the other day at a cartoon which had kids picking and flicking boogers and yelling to their parents "I'm NOT LISTENING!!" And we wonder. By the time I have kids I won't even be able to own a freaking tv.

I've walked out in less than 5 minutes, leaving my intended purchase on the counter when it appeared the cashiers just weren't paying attention.

Once tore another customer a new asshole because SHE got upset that I got waited on first when she was standing under a "This side closed" sign and demanded she be waited on next. She told me I wouldn't have spoken to her the way I did if her husband were there. I told she may be right, because HE would probably have read and followed the sign!

As to the your other points; The worlds a big shit sandwich, and we all get to take a bite. Some of us can handle the taste better than others, I guess. Or not.

Frankly, I believe the media is partly responsible for the increase in violent crime and suicide - people get the idea that it's ok to do it... besides the fact that it's all slanted.

And what they put out there depends entirely on what's happening - slow news day means we get to hear about perverts and beatings and regular run of the mill murder.

it's pretty sick.

And you are right to grump about everything else.

ok I can surely tell you as someone who worked retail for some 20 years, don't feel like an ass for demanding service. If they can't get off THEIR ass and help you then they need a good swift kick in their ass...lol.

I know exactly what you mean about them airing a non child show RIGHT AFTER a kids show! A couple years ago we used to have the Noggin channel and if you left that chanel on after 6pm...it switched to a Pre Teen series of shows...doesn't sound like a huge problem right?...except I overheard one of their commercials that had swearing in it...they thought that was completely fine for pre teens!AND right after the pre-school programming was done?? I e-mailed them with my complaint and they basically told me they didn't care. I dropped that chanel.

I get down about the islamofascists making such headway in the world, but then I remember all of my guns and realize that if they try to take over America, it'll be a little tougher than the average pushover country. I'm good for taking out a few of them if they try.
