New internet provider = downtime.

I'll be offline while they install my new internet and cable TV tomorrow morning.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they send someone with at least half a brain.

I'll try to catch up with you guys Monday evening if all goes well.

Who is competing with Time Warner & Road Runner for cable TV and Internet down there? We only have DSL or Satellite as alternatives...or dial up.

I may be completely wrong, but I thought you used Road Runner.... what was wrong with them?

M: thanks!

JP: At&T fiber optic just started offering service down here. It sounds good and since roadrunner is crapping out every 5 min and I can't get through to a tech without them hanging up on me after 45min on hold. I decided to say screw em.

Ryan: I lose my connection to the internet every 5 min on the dot. Customer service says they can't help because the local office is busy When I get through to the local office they leave me on hold, hang up on me or transfer me to one rep after another that just tell me to reset my modem.

Good Monday Morning, Hammer ! How are you ?

Half a brain is a lot to ask for from your cable provider, but I wish you the VERY best of luck !

Hammer,

Good luck with the cable guy & your new internet. Although to be honest, if the cable guy did have more than half a brain, he probably wouldn't be installing cable for a living.

When I went from dial up to cable, they told me they couldn't get out for 3 days. I went up to the shop got the cable, splitter and modem, and we came home and had it installed ourselves in 2 hours. Then I called the online service people and they walked me through getting it all up and running and switching things over.

I'm sure most situations aren't that smooth, but sometimes the small town thing is nice. hehehehe

Good luck! Hope it all works out.

I have signed up for Broadband (that's what it's called here - I have dial-up right now) and "IT" arrived in a box a couple of days ago. It is still in the box! I'm scared of it. She told me it was easy....it also involves me running cable along the skirting and up round stuff and plugging things in then installing a CD thing in my computer....aaaaaah! Help!! I WILL do it though...this dial-up is driving me MAD(DER!)

Thanks all. I have everthing set up and it's about 5 times faster than cable. My old stuff was seriously messed up.
It's also saving me about $100 per month so thats even better.

Good luck KB!

I just saw something about fiber optics in PC magazine. I'll have to read up on it now. Our local Time Warner RR is fantastic. The service is great and the support is customer friendly...something that is lacking in most every other business I have dealt with lately. Good luck with the new system.

GLad to hear you're up and running. I am STILL having problems but am stuck with these people - in a contract - until Sept. Besides, my only other choice are newer satellite companies or dial up. At least Prism net gives me a credit when I have problems.
