Hammer Burgers.

I made these last night and they were a hit.
1 Lb Ground Chuck
1 Lb Ground pork
1 medium onion
3 cloves garlic
2 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
Place the onion, garlic and spices in a food processor and liquify it.
In a large bowl blend the beef, pork and onion mixture until it is mixed well
Form into large pattys and grill over medium high heat in a cast iron skillet or non stick grill pan. You can even do these on the outside grill if you are careful.
Cook the burgers for about 5 minutes per side. You should see some carmelization when you flip them. If not, cook for a bit longer.
I topped them with provelone cheese and served them on a kaiser roll.
I always make a tray with hamburger fixings such as pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole etc.. so each person can pick and choose exactly how they want their burger topped.
The onion spice mix makes these burgers moist and well seasoned...it really helps to keep the burger from turning into a hocky puck when cooking them well done for the kids.

Top mine with a big old slice of onion and make it to go!
I would have never thought to mix the pork w/ the beef... Great idea.
I must try that...
Nothing beats homemade burgers.
I will have to try these little jewels.
Haven't done homemade burgers in years. I'm hungry now.
You might like the way I do burgers sometimes...I use a half and half ground beef and Italian sausage...HEART FOOD!
Provelone is my all time favorite cheese. Yummy. You're in charge of making the burgers!
Yum!
Mmmmm, looks good!
That's got to be the best recipe for a real BURGER I've ever seen. Now to put it to the test, BBQ some up and take a bite.
Thanks for posting this.
That's good! Love the garlic too!
Jesus man, that 'heart attack' barely fits on the plate! My husband would be most worshipful if I were to follow that recipe.
Hmmm, I think I might, just once.
Um, Jihad above, you're gonna need a bib to eat that burger, seriously.
Well since the recipe for those ribs you made was a super hit, this one will definitely be getting a try.
They sound fantastic. I need to teach my husband how to cook. :-)
Looks pretty damn tasty, but Kelly would never go for the sausage.
Now I'm gonna have to build us some good burgers this week.

I make something similar, but I use 1 lb turkey burger mixed with 1 lb ground beef. This combination works much better on the BBQ grill as there's a lot less flare-up, yet they're still moist.
I make meatloaf with pork and beef. Makes sense to make burgers that way too. Sounds good!
makes my mouth water. Yum.
I do something similar to yours, but I have the butcher at HEB grind up a brisket into hamburger. I like to mix some worcestershire into them also. Besides the cumin and paprika they are pretty much the same.
Damn, soon as I get home I'm gonna make me one a them things man. Hope I can remember how to do it after 6 lifetimes.
Ummmm, yumm-yummm! Those look and sound delicious!!! Bet I wouldn't stay a skinny little sister with those in my daily diet!
we like sausage in our burgers - sometimes JUST sausage!
Sounds good! I keep mine simple. About a tablespoon of finely chopped onion and a teaspoon of A-1 per 1/4lb. of ground chuck, a little salt and pepper on each side, 10 minutes a side over charcoal, using the last 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese. Keep the napkins handy.
I love the seasoning, cumin. A little goes a long way, but I love adding it in stuff that will benefit from it. Burgers, never tried that.
