Easter.

The mother in law is taking the kids up to La Grange for Easter at the Aunts house. I seriously dislike going because I really have nothing to say to anyone and I can't stand my wife's family except for a few notable exceptions. I figure the wife and I will hang out on Friday night, maybe go to the cigar bar down the street and listen to some live music. On Sunday we are doing a Barbecue at my nephews house with his inlaws. They are good people and I enjoy their company.

I mentioned a while back that my wife moved to a new department in her company and was really loving her new job. The person "Janiqua" who had been my wife's replacement in her old department, has fucked things up so badly that the higher ups decided that my wife needed to go back to her old department and fix it back the way it was and Janiqua would get my wife's current job .

My wife was pissed off to say the least. The manager was fighting the move but to no avail. He has no use for "Janiqua" who is lazy, functionally illiterate, and plays the race card every time someone tries to hold her accountable.

The manager made it known that he was going to make Janiqua work for the first time in her life, she would not be getting a free ride and to expect 14 hour days for the next several months.

My wife had her going away party, a car load of gifts from her employees and was pulling out of the parking lot to head back to her old office to clean up the horrid mess that Janiqua had made.

Her boss came running out and stood in front of the car and told her to stop. My wife rolled down the window and asked what's up?

Turns out Janiqua had a sudden "family emergency" and requested a demotion and a transfer back to her old district on the very day she was to take over her new job.

The wife asked if everyone wanted their presents back, they said no they were just happy they weren't going to be working for Janiqua.

That's fantastic! But who's going to fix the mess Janiqua made?

That is so cool that your wife gets to stay with the job she likes.

My mother in law has wanted to take my kid for holidays a number of times. I'm mean I don't let that happen. Holidays are with us. Period, they can drop by. hehehehehe

Walrilla: thanks yeah I get to spend a lot more time with her this way.

Jeannie: The hole just gets deeper and now they are paying the price for dumping the whole mess on my wife for 5 years. I told my wife that if she is eventually forced to return she needs to demand a promotion because she was doing the district managers job as well.

burfica: I don't mind easter but thanksgiving and Christmas they stay with us.

Maddy: I was telling the wife that this sounded like a sitcom

H20 thanks!

Enjoy your holiday Hammer!

I think Janiqua knew she was in for a butt-load of hostility and ran scared.

I have events like the one where you only have something to say to on or two relatives. I have one this weekend too.

Even Booze does not work.

Yayy MRS H...!!! Congrats on keeping the job... We have a few people like that at work.

Last night the girl that is on probation because she calls in so damned much supposedly had to take her 1 year old daughter to the Emergency room where she could have an excuse to be late for work. Then she tried telling me that when the baby was born they thought she had an ear infection.. LOL.. I have never heard of a new born right out of the womb having an ear infection. Correct me if I am wrong any mother out there but I have never heard such stories OK.!!!

I am very happy o ear such a nice story, she must have well deserved to stay at the job she likes so much, I hope Janiqua's mess will be cleared up fast and well.
It's difficult for some parents to let their children go to grand parents place. I never had the chance to look after my grand children in my own home, even for one night, i can tell you it's very sad for the grand parents.

"Some people brighten a room by entering it; some, by leaving it."

I never heard this saying played out for real, in literal terms, until this Janiqua story.

Translating "Janiqua" from Ebonics to English means, "One who gets a rash from working."

I have worked with plenty of "Janiquas"!
I have had a Janiqua in every language, religion, and ethnicity!
They will eventually put "if your name is Janiqua check this box" on employment applications!

Why they all bent over backwards for Janiqua in the first place, I'll never know. They should've let her go for incompetence from the getgo.

I'm just glad it all worked out in the end.

Happy Easter to you and your family!

Yay for the wife! Time to party. I can't say enough times that employers should really not give a shit about the race card and let the lawsuit happen...then have people testify time and time again about how poor Janiqua did her job...

I am happy to hear that your wife is in a better situation....

I want to shoot that nasty scary evil Bunny. Stay home with your wife and skip the family duello.
Your wife's workplace "co-labor dispute" sounds like they occasionally mirrors my wife's - excerpt for the part where Janiqua actually does anything. Good goin'!

Bedtime prayer that night...

"Now I lay me...

And thank you Lord, for helping out with that job situation, but...
did you have to cut it SO CLOSE?"
