I think I'm about ready.

All the gifts are bought. I hope...

I'm a little worried about Christmas eve. Some people in my family who refuse to speak to me and the wife are going to be at the gathering. I'm trying to figure out whether to ignore them or just drink alot so I don't notice them... damn I hate uncomfortable situations.

I just want the kids to enjoy themselves, so any way to avoid drama will be fine.
Speaking of the kids, they are all on antibiotics and feeling better. We caught the strep early so it didn't get them too sick.
.
Even though my wife gets seven weeks paid vacation each year, she has to work through Christmas day to make sure everything gets done. The nice thing is that she will be able to take some time off right after the last plane takes off 6:AM on the 25th, so we can spend some time together. She loves her job, but the holidays have always been rough in her industry.

My wife took the girls to see the Nutcracker at the playhouse downtown so I'm going to take the boy to see National Treasure while they are gone.

Well I hope everyone has a terrific holiday and thank you to sweething for the nice friendship post.

Merry Christmas Hammer, Drink plenty and it will all pass with good memories. That's my formula to deal with the holidays. I stopped caring what people really think years ago.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family.

No worries on the not happy people at your family gathering. Don't let them get to you. I just smile and go about having fun. They can only be nasty if you let them. I choose not to let them. I have a daughter in law who is trying to put a damper on all family gatherings. We all ignore her moods and go about enjoying ourselves. It really pisses her off. Which makes us all happy.

Glad the family is getting healthy.

Have an awesome day!

once we've been in the workplace, we can see how our loved ones cope.

as for the family thing, it's best to allow them their peccadilloes and just go with the flow - i have a sister in law who has stolen from us 16 years ago - i asked my husband to forgive his sister for her sin against us and it took him many years, but it caused peace in our family.

when we saw her after my dad's funeral, she was as nasty as she's ever been, but i figure our being nice to her was like "heaping hot coals upon her (the enemy's) head." she had ABSOTIVELY NO recourse.

just be pleasant - what can they say after that? it works.

MERRY CHRISTmas, hammer and family - peace be upon your family.

Drink and make merry! How is Mary! You have family that won't talk to you? Why even bother with them? Christmas is a holiday for joy not to deal with family just because they are family! You spend time with the people you love and who love you and forget the family!

Merry Christmas dear, and so glad the kids feel better.

The Nutcracker is a must for all little girls!

Just focus on enjoying yourselves at the party, you deserve to.

For someone who is annoyed by confusions of 'lose' and 'loose', you should know that 'alot' is not a word. My personal pet peeve.

Yep it's a typo that the blogger spell checker doesn't catch. I've fixed it myself a few times but some still slip through.
