Not everything goes as planned

Sorry I've been gone so long. The wife got called in to work in the middle of her vacation due to a surprise audit of the facilites she's in charge of. So that sucked.

Our shower drain broke and flooded the inside of our walls and ceiling, the house smells like dirty wet mildew. I've been working with contractors and insurance adjusters to get the shit fixed.

Hopefully they'll get to work on it by Monday.

The wife kicked ass on her audit and got a lot of recognition so she gets to take her vacation next week uninterrupted...I think.

I should be back to posting and visiting like normal tomorrow.

Thanks for all the nice comments this past week.

Sounds like quite an adventure. I hope they get all of the mold out, and don't just slap fresh drywall over it...

Here's to hoping that your wife's vacation is a real break this time.

Oh, man, sorry about your shower. Hope it all goes well, and you get uninterrupted time with your wife next week.

Hmm. Sounds like with all that to sort out you'll not be back to blogging quite so soon [you know these things always take far longer than any human brain can fathom in advance]

Maybe you should take a second holiday whilst it's all being fixed [if only]
Cheers

Good Sunday afternoon to you Hammer !

Serious bummer about the flooded shower drain. I hope when everything is ixed that it smells clean and good. Does that bathroom have a window ?

Congrats on your wife's audit. Getting to take uninterrupted vacation is a good thing.

I left you 'special blessings' on my good girl blog today.
I'm taking a hiatus from it for a while (explanation is over there), BUT will continue to write my erotica blog !

Mark and I had our 7th date last Friday night (the 14th), and all seems to be well.

Psycho cop Mike (the not-really-ex, but kind-of, you know the whole story) is back.
I don't think he wants me; it's just the idea of someone else having me that seems to bug him.

Anyway, I do hope that you still come visit me and comment on Mhmmm Yes... I'll be by to visit you occasionally, and hope that life treats you nicely !

*cyber hugs and smiles*

Oh man!!
Your house sounds like ours. Every time there's a problem, it involves water. Believe me, I know the shit that water leaks involve. You have my sympathy!

Your vacation was interrupted by an audit? Who the hell did you throw in a gas chamber in your previous life to earn that privilege?

Wow, good to have you back but sorry for the disastrous problems with the house. Doesn't take much to create a mess. Good luck and look on the bright side...contractors and insurance idiots make for good blogging fodder!

Sucks for your wife - they should give her a few days extra with pay not just for coming in but for having the audit go well. She's obviously a gem.

And the shower thing sucks - we had a similar problem once but never thought to call insurance. When Gary pulled down the drywall, a cloud of mold mildew was released - immediately, I couldn't breath - good thing our son is asthmatic - I ran upstairs and grabbed his puffer and had to stay there until everything was well bleached. I've had problems with mold away on holiday too. Good time to redecorate anyway if you need to look at a bright side. And your wife being off means she has time to figure out what she'd like.

Sounds like fun. I hope your wife enjoys the rest of her vacation and such with you and kids when they are home. I know I enjoy when Jeff takes his but then again I love when he goes back to work. LOL.. He gets in my way.

Congrats to your wife, mine is scheduled for March (audit). Sorry about the flood! Watch your contractor like a hawk when he does the repairs - the molds that can grow in that environment are lethal.

Many well-earned CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Hammer! Well done and please enjoy your vacation, ma'am!

The one good thing about the shower drain mess is that it happened while you are at home so that it may be tended to ASAP! However, please make certain they get it all gone even if they have to replace more walls...it's the only way to ensure the mold is gone!

God Bless and don't give up!
