Carries question meme

Carrie has a thing where she sends out unique questions for people to answer on their blogs. I volunteered to do it

Here goes:

If you could have an “alone” day, what would you do?
Gun show, bowling, favorite hole in the wall restaurant.

What scares you?
When my kids get hurt.

You like to tell stories but what do you not tell us?
The darker side to my personality.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Starting another business.

What do you honestly think of us Okies?

Since Oklahoma is exactly in between my hometown state and my current state it seems they are friendly and down to earth like Kansas/Missouri. They are also proud and independent like Texans.

Popped over here from Dave' blog.
My wife is from Kansas. We love it out there. Lots of box turtles. =)

Is Sugar Creek by any chance the same setting of all the "Sugar Creek Gang" stories written by Paul Hutchens?

What do you mean 'if'?

Everyday is mine to do what I please to do with it.

Well, I don't have family at home anymore so that makes a difference.

I take care of Helen's needs and then I go do what I like. Often it's just going somewhere to get away from the monkeys.

Or going somewhere to observe them because I'm forever curious.

Well, some of them are too damn stupid to get out of the traffic.

Others are really good sensible country folks.

I mean, you judge the person, not the area or country.

But it's fun at times to poke humor at things when generalizing.

we all have our darker sides...

nobody really needs to know them unless they are highlighted on CNN or the local news.

Hammer I hate it when my kids get hurt. As a matter of fact I always tell them that they've scared 10 years off of my life.

Dark side....Hmmmmm! :)

Good Wednesday morning Hammer ! How are you today ?

What kind of business ?

And why not share the darker side ?
We all have one. Pain and anger and hurt exist side by side in our heads with learning and wisdom and enjoyment.
Thinking about something/venting about it, isn't the same as acting upon it.

Good answers. You know everyone thinks of us Okies as hillbillies.

I would like to know more about your dark side.

I imagined that you would say something to do with your kids about being scared.

I show others everything in my brain, that really spooks some people. LOL

patterns: Thanks for stopping by.
Actually the books take place in Indiana. I wouldn't mind living in the midwest again, that's for sure :)

BBC: Yep responsibilities limit my own time but I still get a couple hours here and there and the odd saturday.

burfica: yeah never know what questions you're going to get :)

KB: maybe someday I'll think of an example :)

jp: exactly, I like to keep mine in the dark :)

mrsjosegoldbloom: I'm a worrier myself :)

annie: so true, maybe someday I'll learn how to vent it. This blog helps some in a semi anon type of way. Not sure what kind of business, maybe consulting, or a antique shop.

carrie: Thanks, I guess I don't notice hillbillies because the's what my family is like ;)

bbc: that sounds like freedom :)

I have never been there but it sounds so peaceful. The fartherst I have ever been is to Las Vegas when I was fifteen. With my parents of course. Its amazing at that age but you cant gamble.

I have only popped in here a handful of times but I like reading what you have to say. I think it's because we are probably about the same age and you tend to put into words, the things that are there in my head but linger in the background and don't fully process on their own. You awaken my memory and that's cool.

Hate...absolutely hate it when my kid gets hurt. October 20, 2005 she was hit by a car right in front of me. When she fell on the other side of the car, I freaked because I lost site of her.

Now I still get upset when she gets hurt, but not as bad. Dare I say I think I have experienced the worst. Thank God she was not seriously hurt.

So do you collect antiques now?

And we'd still read you, you know, even if you revealed your darker side...

Alone time, without all the cats? Yep, big gun show and big food. What scares me? Thinking what my poor country is gonna look like when I'm as old and beat down as BBC. Joking. Don't get yer knickers in a twist. What I don't tell you? Lots of stuff. Inner child isn't interested in the publicity. 10 years? Same shit, different day. Maybe have most of this shit paid for, but who knows? probably have 2 dead parents, more cats, and be supporting my dead assed sister. Wait, that's the thing that REALLY scares me. Okies are ok, Beautiful state in places, like Texas, only more gas wells and prairie. Wish they'd find gas under this place. Would be nice to get the monthly check.

jocyeln: I hav quite a few around the house, I use most of them.

mutley: thank you and the feeling is mutual.

fathairybastard: Man I'm trying not to think of supporting my relatives. doing that too much as it is. Oklahoma red dirt is a nice change of scenery.
