Keeping with the musical theme this week

Some songs grate on my nerves and it seems that they got more than their fair share of airplay. This is torture for someone as sensitive to bad music as I am.

I've bitched loud and long about these shit songs. Who knows maybe I'm just an an asshole...

This is the world's all time shittiest song.

A close second..like nails on a chalkboard

What the fuck was he thinking?

More Schlock

I agree with you but I think you have barely touched the tip of the iceburg.
Of course much bad music is subjective. I personally have a HUGE problem with country and opera. It's the twanging and screeching. And the dramatics or the over the top sentimentality which pervades so much of the really bad stuff. Or the juvenile crap. Like Avril. Or rap. Or soppy Christian camp tunes. Stop me please!

This post reminds me of a girl I knew, who, whenever she would smell something really awful, would put it to my nose and say, "Here, smell this."

No way do I click on those links...

No way...

Not clicking the videos would be like driving by a car wreck and not looking. It's unnatural. The videos add insult to injury...bad songs and bad pretend performing.

ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

Make IT STOP!!!!!

Thank you Hammer, My ears are bleeding now.
I noticed these videos only have a pause button. I've permanently paused them.
Now why would you want to do this to a body? The only thing worse is when someone picks these songs as karaoke at your neighborhood bar.

All of these tunes were overplayed. As a teenager, I made it a point to kick anyone's ass that had on an REO Speedwagon T-shirt or any piece of clothing.

I didn't get to see the "What the fuck was he thinking?" one but I bet it was good.

If you had air supply on this I would have agreed with you as well. The only reason to listen to Air Supply was as a sedative to cure some sort of malignant disease.

Jefferson Airplane was a lot better than Starship.
The only one of REO's that I liked was Riding the Storm Out.
The other two? Never mind...

I don't have a problem with these songs. Way better than rap or disco.,
and the Sid Vicious type punk.

Now, how am I going to get the REO song out of my head?

You might be trying to understand what Eddie Murphy was thinking. I on the other hand am hard pressed wondering WHAT ON EARTH the guy with the ORANGE PERM was thinking!?!?!

Eww.. you are not an asshole at all. They are all horrible and deserve to be on the shitty song list.

I would have had to add that song "Sunglasses At Night". I detest that song. Every time I hear it, it makes me want to shove my Ray-Bans up his ass.

Oh and why is it all the links came up in a different screen but the last... that one opened and played within your post! weird!

I'm SO sorry I've been such a stranger all year. One of these days I'm going to get caught up. I've missed reading your brilliant posts, but I'm trying to hold it together over here.

I agree with all of these as colossally bad, but one stands out in my mind as so-bad-as-to-be-perversely-enjoyable. Of course, that distinction goes to Party all the Time by Eddie Murphy and Rick James. It sends me into ecstasies of revulsion - and I have to respect that.

By the way, did you hear that Eddie Murphy stormed out of the Oscars when he didn't win for best supporting actor? Classy!

Ah, ya bastidge! You could have just listed the titles instead of forcing me to listen to the songs!!!

As far as crappity music, how about nearly anything from Justin Timberlake, the Backdoor Boys, or any Idol winner?? I won't force you to listen!!

phosgene: what fun would that be :)

I can't do Utube as you well know.

And there is music that I can't stand at all.

But when it comes to music, it's to each his/her own I say.

I've never heard of music fucking up the world as much as religions has.

Just saying.

They all suck, but Eddie was better than the rest, and he's not a singer. Speaks volumes about singers these days...

Whitney "I love crack" Houston has a beautiful voice, but she just can't pick a winner.

Well, I dunno....I have least favourite songs, but none of those were any of my picks...loved the hair and stuff though - the 80s produced some really bad music, some really good music, some really bad hairdos and clothes, but I LOVED the 80s!!!

At March 11, 2007 at 7:55 PM , Anonymous gunz said...

Damn...

You were right on all accounts. I made the mistake of making them ALL play at once...

Make it stop NOW!!!!
