Do I really want to gain rank here?
I picked gostats.com so I could get a free counter, see where my visitors were coming from and what posts they were looking at.
This helps me see what is being forwarded in emails. Gostats also shows referring pages and Internet searches. So if someone googles: "restroom biker titanic green chile monkey anus" they will be directed to this blog.
I soon noticed that Gostats had page rankings. How interesting. Almost all are porno or hot celebrity sites. Thanks to you guys I've already passed up "nude pictures of Dennis Franz" in the rankings.
Just out of curiosity I wanted to see who was number one. Just so I could have something to aspire to. Well lookee here.../drumroll......../ BeastForum - The Worlds Largest Bestiality Board.
Arrggh! My eyes!
Anyone have any suggestions for another website or service that gives me a counter and pertinent visitor information but isn't exclusively for perverts?

I use addfreestats on mine. It's free, shows you all types of useful info, and ins't associated with porn (that I can tell). Sitemeter is probably one of the best, but you have to pay for the good stuff.

You can also switch to haloscan for your comments, and you can associate visitors information with specific commentors that way (and ban spammers); just a thought.

Since you removed the gostats script, I don't get the error message about a busy script with Firefox anymore.

I didn't delve that far in buttersnatch, they wanted a credit card and a picture of my chiuahua.
