Crispy dogs
Ingredients:
1 package of Yellow corn tortillas
Package of Jumbo Franks (any type is fine)
8 oz block of Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of corn or canola oil.
1 package of tooth picks
medium frying pan
Take a room temperature corn tortilla and place a slice of cheese, a frank, and roll it carefully.
Using two tooth picks secure the ends of the tortilla to the frank.
Prepare as many as you want to serve before hand.
Set folded paper towels on a plate
Heat the oil on medium until it starts to smoke lightly.
Cook 2 of the wrapped dogs at a time, be sure to roll them side to side and use a spoon to splash hot oil over the tops. the cheese should be melted and the tortilla crisp and lightly browned.
Cooking time for each should be just a minute or so.
Place cooked crispy dogs on a paper towel to cool and drain.
Serve with your favorite salsa, chili, or condiment.
You can make smaller ones for parties. Kids love these and the preparation time is under 10 minutes total.

That sounds relatively cheap especially if one would opt for the normally inedible Bar-S hot dogs. Perfect for feeding to my not-quite-sober friends at our upcoming shindig
That sound kind of disgusting...but delectible at the same time!
Sounds pretty tasty. Might just have to give that a try soon.
My neighbor, Helen, loves franks. I seldom eat one. But that sounds good.
So send me one, my address is......
LOL
Hell anyone with two brain cells can find my address on the Internet and map a route to my place.
See ya tomorrow, Hammer, take care.
Now those just sound so yummy and so so bad for someone like me watching her carbs. Can I still drool a little?
Thanks for dropping by :)
What is franks? If we don't have it here in Egypt..is it something else that can substitute it?
It's a type of sausage I guess.
I use a soybean substitute myself.

Franks
yum - But I don't think I can get soft corn tortillas around here - but who knows? I haven't exactly checked out any of the ethnic grocers downtown
certainly sounds better than a corndog which my husband and kids love (except for my daughter since she became a vegetarian)
Definately must make these. I sure don't want to live anywhere that I can't get tortillas or good Mexican food. My sympathies to Jeannie!
My heart exploded just reading this.
Made them today for lunch with turkey dogs. Thanks so much Hammer, they were yummy.
