Been messing with the blog

I've been using my amateurish (feeble) html skills to add a custom banner (using reader submissions).

I'm open to any suggestions or viewing issues you may have.

I took the resolution down to 1024x768 and I could still see everything.

Let me know what you think.

Special thanks to Jarhead John and all you guys who spent the time to create and send me the pictures.

My scree resolution is set at 800 by 600 and your page looks odd the way it is now.

And your profile and links and all that are at the bottom of the page instead of at the top like they always have been.

Maybe you could put the banner at the bottom of the page? By banner I'm assuming that you mean the graphic with the different hammer graphics in it.

I can save your page as an html file and email it to you. That would show you what it looks like at this end.

I like it Hammer, and I can see it just fine, but people with lower screen resolutions will have a problem viewing your page properly. Love the smoking monkey...LOL

The blog looks pretty good on my screen. I like it. Love the banner. Have to admit though the mucky yellow green background color is not my favorite. How about one of the lighter blues in the hammer picture in your banner?

Everything looks fine here... but I use Firefox. I've compared things with people who use IE before, and it seems Firefox sometimes shows stuff a little differently. I don't have any idea what someone using Opera or any other browser would see. But Firefox says, "H4mm4r 1z t3h r0xx0rz".

Y'know, if that's what it's saying, maybe everything isn't okay... *snicker*

BBC: Still a work in progress going to try and clean up the columns glad it's working better.

mrsjosegoldbloom: Thanks, the monkey was my first blog pic.

devilbluedress: I'll take that into consideration. I always thought it was a light beige.
thanks for visiting btw :)

jp: Thanks, I needed a way to get the other great submissions in there somehow.
carrie: Thanks, I don't feel so clever, I stayed up all night farting with the damned thing. Html is like swahili to me. I'm going to post my own directions once my brain stops hurting.

dazd: Thanks, and thanks for visiting :)

Phoenix: I know all you firefox hackers are 1337 so I'm glad everything doesn't teh suxxorz ;)

Burfica: Cool, thanks and thanks for visiting :)

Hammer, I like it!

I like the hammer in the blue shirt so much I'd make it my profile photo if I were you.

Looks great. I like the pythonesque (Monty that is)cut on The Scream the best.

HTML really is a language. More complex effects are built on combining tags for basic effects, just as larger words are built on smaller words in a spoken language. All you really need is a basic HTML guide, and the internet is full of those if you do a Google search.

I warn you, though... A lot of sites are going to CSS, and I suspect we're not far away from a day when nobody really supports HTML anymore. Unless it's more vital than I realize. I just know there are already things I can't customize because I don't know CSS.

Great collage to represent the differing aspects of your personality - or at least the personalities your readers envision! One of these days I'm going to figure it out and revise my template. I have alot of sites that offer various buttons, logos, blogskins, etc for free but I don't have a freaking clue how to make them work. Perhaps they don't work with the new beta or perhaps I'm just clueless!
Anywho, you did an "industrious" job!

I'm set at 1280X1024, and your sidebar is at the bottom of the page (in Firefox). Odd.

It's great, congratulation, I wish I could do the same for my blog.
Everything you write is clever, and funny, and interesting, thank you for that.
