Having fun with youtube.com
With the piles of steaming crap on TV these days, the expense and hassle of going out, and the difficulty of finding something to entertain myself and the kids I was desperate for some kind of diversion.
I figure the kids won't be little forever and spending time with them whenever possible is in all of our best interest.
So I called the kids in to the office, went onto youtube and started looking for stuff that I liked as a kid. All of the sudden, after the first couple of songs and videos everyone is laughing and having a good time.
Eureaka! I don't have to watch another Pokemon video or dress naked Barbies for the umpteenth time.
The great thing about youtube is, once find something entertaining, there are long lists of similar videos to keep the ball rolling.
For example, last night I looked up theme songs from vintage cartoons and that kept us busy laughing, singing and acting silly for hours. I was even able to find a couple of educational items and PSA clips to throw in between without everyone losing interest.
I never realized that there are hundreds of thousands of home made videos done to popular songs, many of which are clever and hilarious, Ever see Spongebob lipsync Elvis or the punk rock version of the Munsters theme song with dancing hamsters?
Every once in a while, it's good to act like a kid again and forget the everyday stresses and problems that seem to cloud up our minds and make us forget what's really important.
Here are a few things that we all liked.

It is so good to know that we give the children positive interests. That is what counts at the end.
I think You tube is fantastic but having moved to beta blogger I can't post videos from YT.
BTW, you post so much that it will take me weeks to read everything.
Yeah, I didn't do enough research
when I moved to beta. I just fell for their smooth advertising.
It's so much nicer to have the videos on the page ready to go.
Yes I love youtube, my kids and I have already checked out some of the funny stuff on there. They loved the weird Al & sponge bob stuff.
Agree with Lexcen about ur posting. I had been too tied up with work, and when i have some time to flip to your page, i was wondering how long i wil take to finish reading everythg.
LOL.
