Hell is for soccer moms....

Ever run across someone so self absorbed and narcissistic that they believe the world is uninhabited save for themselves and whoever is on the other end of their damned cell phone?

Next to my kid's elementary school is a small cul-de-sac where some parents park to pick up their offspring. This small side street faces the school and is next to the crosswalk.

The street slowly fills up with SUV's and mini vans all with white stickers on the back window advertising how many children they have and each extra curricular activity they are involved in. Is it just me or is advertising how many cheerleader daughters live in your house stupid and reckless?

Anyway, these soccer moms block the all the driveways on this street and refuse to move for legitimate residents leaving or returning during pickup time.

These so called parents race down this small side street while it is swarming with kids.

Jockeying for position, they hit parked cars and mailboxes trying to fit a 22 foot suburban into a 21 foot space. I actually saw one lady guiding another one into a parking place and she let the driver hit the same parked car three times . Once she had smashed her way into the spot the lady directing her smiled and gave a big thumbs up.

Once the soccer moms have picked up her children, they floor the accelerator cutting off anyone who may be decent enough to wait for the street to be clear of children.

I have seen some shit bag moms actually honk and rev their engines at small children that walked too slowly across the crosswalk.

Once the signs go down and its free to drive, traffic usually backs up in front and behind the crossing guards. Do these parents leave the crosswalk clear while waiting for their turn to pull out? Fuck NO! they park their godamned urchin bus in the middle of the crosswalk completely blocking it so that no more kids can cross. I call this phenomena kid-lock.

Once someone gets behind the wheel do they lose all morality, decency and sense of responsibility? What are these assholes thinking?

One time an old lady in her nineties who actually lived on this particular street was hanging out of the passenger side window of her carpool screaming "GET THE FUCK OFF MY STREET! FUCK YOU! WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE!" At first I thought she was a crazy mean bitch for yelling that to a bunch of six year olds... turns out she was yelling at their parents.

Can't say I blame her.

If I lived there, I'd be out there with my camcorder taking video to turn over to the police.

I have definitely noticed what you are talking about. It used to be that teens raced around in neighborhoods. Nowadays, it is the moms with a bunch of kids in the car who are playing NASCAR in the residential areas. They probably cuss out fast drivers on their own street when their kids aren't in their own car.
The teens drive 5 MPH so that everyone can hear their 200dB bass speakers pounding away. Or maybe the amp is such a drain on the car that it won't go any faster?
There are times I wish I lived out in the boonies...

I think what bothers me most about people like this is that they A) really don't see a problem with their behavior, or, B) are hypocrits. These people will nearly run over someone else's kid in their rush to master being in two places at one time just long enough to get Judy to softball and Greg to karate. They'll scream at Judy and Greg and completely demoralize them if they don't astound everyone with their skills in these activities. Then they say to other people, "I just love being a parent! Judy and Greg are my pride and joy! I'm all about my kids. Children are so important, and I just can't imagine anyone ever doing anything to hurt a child." It just makes me want to slap their botox faces.

omg i know exactly what you're talking about.. i lived near a school complex.. so you get kindergarten, elementary, junior high and senior high all packed into one street... even though i go to work everyday when school already starts, the moronic parents and/or drivers are still there!! i dont know what the heck they're doing there at that time a day, but they park everywhere and in any position they like, backing out without checking first.. oh and don't get me started on the soccer moms.. i'm a woman and know i understand why we have such a bad reputation when it comes to driving/parking..

btw your description of the soccer mom guiding the other soccer mom was hilarious.. :D
